McDermott
Woah oh oh
McDermott
Woah oh oh
He used to manage Reading
And now he manages Reading

Good news for the hard-working families of Reading.

Can we bring Coppell back as DoF and bin off Nick(y) Hammond?

Serious, shut up with your total irrelevant crap... its a given that he will be sacked in the future, every manager is likely to receive that fate, luckily nobody cares about your opinion although you do know more about foot ball than all of us put together.

so fur know wiy knot giv hyme chance beter than wot we got now!

So delighted about this prospect, I'm making my first post since March 2013, when he was sacked and I threw my toys out of the pram.

He always stood out as a very decent bloke and a breath of fresh air in football's increasingly fetid swamp and even if the level of success he achieved during what continues to be (relatively) a golden period for this club may be beyond us now, if he goes about things in the same way (yes - the Reading way, it's not done us so badly), then I for one will be fine with that.

I didn't love everything BMc did and I had reservations when his return was suggested. But I'm fricking delighted and really enthused now it's happened!!

Madejski said at the time that he wouldn't have fired McDermott. But Zingarevich was in charge, he was the owner and he's good at Fffing things up.

McDermott is loved by the glorious owners and the fans of Reading FC apart from that Chinese bloke Dave-Royal perhaps.

I do like Brian, and I have to admit to being happy we have someone with integrity again, but I can't shake the fact that he is still a manager with no plan b, who is far too nice for his own good, and he struggles managing players with big egos. This squad has a lot of them now! I just can't see it working out. I'll give him 18 months before we turf the poor bugger out again!

I also wonder if we'll see Jobi McAnuff return in a coaching capacity.

That's a slight exagration of the truth. He is well throught of, yes; but the fans are still very split on his sacking and his re-appointment. Give it a few months, perhaps a bad start to next season, and you watch those knifes come back out! Then watch the Thai owners get itchy feet again!

I can't help but feel this is one of those incidences where you should never go back!

Please excuse me for not doing cartwheels of excitement, he needs to convince me he as developed a plan B, in the 3 years since he left.
rather than blasted to ball at chest and head high to the big striker.
Job number one, go to Palace and get McCarthy back on the books

Top Flight Who else will lose out though apart from Piazon? I think McDermott will favour Obita over Taylor as well as he prefers attacking wing play, overlapping full backs etc.

Not on the basis of his last spell at the club. His most used full backs were Andy Griffin and Ian Harte.

strap
Steve_Upper_West EXCELLENT....... now get Sal back and McCarthy in on loan !!

I think McCarthy or Feds in on loan must be nailed on. Al Dropsi has made more clangers in his short time here than even Feds did in his entire RFC career - and that's saying something!

Dream on.
