Thou Voice How short memories you have....

....this chap used to only mutter "We move on"...

...clearly we don't as we are moving backwards.

We needed a Football Manager, not an ex-Scout.

Do You See?

Your might be right but what can you do .

When Brian McDermott was sacked in March 2013, 52% of Hob Nobbers considered that to be the correct decision. Only 39% thought he should have stayed on!
Since then, BM has spent 13 largely unsuccessful months at Leeds, and other periods of time as a scout. Curiosity would lead me to ask exactly why the club see him as the man to lead us forward again! A very strange decision!
Worth pointing out here that the last four Reading managers have all been sacked, which poses the question as to who is on the selection panel. I anticipate that our Thai owners will know nothing about BM, which leads me to believe that this decision has very much be lead by Nigel Howe and 'Mr Untouchable' aka Nicky Hammond!
I have serious reservations about this latest appointment. I guess time will tell if it is the right decision.

Got a manager of the month award in the PL.
"We move on" was a phrase used when it was going wrong in the Premiership where he was given basically b*gger all to spend.
Moving backwards? How? BM did nothing wrong. First full season a playoff final...second full season Champions.
Did a good job at Leeds as well if you speak to their fans.
Hes never put a foot wrong and as well as scouting around Europe he has picked up good knowledge.
You do remember we got in the Premiership as champions didn't you?

Regardless of whether you think this was the right move can we now all finally start pulling together and get behind Bri and the team.

Let's not expect an immediate or big turn around. There are parrellels to his first season, a mismanaged but talented squad low on confidence. But this could be hard to turn round.

So lets keep it positive and loud (er) at the ground even if we lose the first few games under him.

Delighted.

My only concern is the abysmal signings in the Prem. Lack of support meant we didn't ever get to see what he could do in the PL with decent support.

Can he spend good money on good players? Can he build a team that can compete in the PL?

He doesn't even know that.

One thing we can be sure of though is that he has proven he can master the Championship. And that's all we need right now. Let's hope he proves himself to be a good PL manager too.

Looking forward to actually utilising some wingers again (look where the goal came from last night) with the talent that haven't performed as yet; Mcleary, Hurtado, John, HRK, Piazon and Fosu (Next season perhaps) I really hope the counter attacking style can return.

I would like him to anchor someone like he did with elwood (Hector did well most of the game last night).

Really looking forward to see how we are set up on Saturday, welcome home Bri x

Armadillo Roadkill Howe is on now. I'm becoming more and more impressed by him.

Agreed. He comes from a footballing family and he's been here donkey's years so he knows the club inside out and he's trusted. I think the Thais are letting him off the leash a bit more.

Impressed with Burton coming in as assistant as well. Good, solid coach and well respected within the game. I think he'll be the tactical brains behind Brian.

I always assumed he was Dodger..."self opinionated negativity ...nowhere to be seen when things are on the up" fits them both perfectly.

Anyway refuse to be annoyed by him...today is a good day...welcome back Brian ...you have unfinished business here...go to it.

How many games do they give him to turn this around before panic sets in ? Guessing there's various break clauses in the 2.5 yr contract to spare anymore blushes for the board ...
