Team for Blackburn (H)

Would be good to go back to a traditional Brian 4-4-2 with width.

Bond
Keown, McShane, Cooper, Obita
Williams, Norwood, Hector
Blackman, Vydra, HRK

Al-Habsi, Sweeney, Griffin, Quinn, Piazon, McCleary, Liburd

Expecting Gunts, Taylor and Ferdinand to be out and Quinn not ready to start. Dunno if Obita is fit if not fooked. Assuming Sa is injured.

Gunter had a 'facial injury' so should be back unless he's a complete homo.
Obita is out for ages i think, so Gunter may need to play left back.
I reckon it'll be;
Bond;
Gunter
Keown
McShane
Hector;
McCleary
Williams
Norwood
Quinn;
Blackman
Vydra

Ah, I forgot Taylor's injury, but Obita's also injured. I think Gunter will play though, so perhaps at left back with Keown coming in.

I prefer 4-4-2, but this was all Brian knew, and it killed us in the Premier League. It'll be interesting to see if he's developed a Plan B. We can't settle into a 4-4-2, get promoted, then scratch our heads when we don't know how to cope against decent footballing sides in the top flight.

FWIW I'd take that starting eleven, and Calamity Habsi wouldn't get another game with a bit of luck. We need stability at the back and that begins with the keeper.

It's a good thing we're not in the Premier League then. People keep mentioning the top flight, let's get promoted first...

'greed, but you can't change system over night and expect it to work. We've been steadily developing a passing side, which at times is exceptional, and that's the sort of style we need to be playing if and when that promotion comes. To go back to 4-4-2 and a direct style would set us back, maybe not now in this league, but in the future certainly.

Yeah that hasn't come out right.

Cba to change it, tbh he'll probably be that far away from anything anyway.

It really wasn't as has been explained numerous times. He picked a formation and style to fit the quality of player he had at the time. When Sig was here we played a system and style that was tailored towards him. When Sig left and we had to rebuild he played a system and style that suited Shane's pace. When Shane left we played a system and style that suited the more limited players we were able to bring in and utilised Roberts strength and power. Even in the PL we switched to 4-5-1 during our most successful spell up there and only switched back when the lone striker, the striker the owner bought, decided to stupidly get himself sent off in a crucial game.

I really don't know why you and others are so slow to pick up on that given the amount of times it's been explained. Now do we need to start using pictures in order for you to get it?

Half hoping for loads of injuries so we get an interesting team... Assuming Gunter, Obita, Taylor, Ferdinand, Tshibola, Sa and Liburd are all still out and it's a little too soon for Quinn:

Bond/AAH; Keown, Hector, McShane, Griffin; Williams, Norwood, Alex; Blackman, Vydra, John
Subs: AAH/Bond, Cooper, Owusu, Quinn, HRK, McCleary, Barrett/Cardwell

More optimistically: Bond, Keown, Hector, McShane, Gunter; Williams, Norwood, Quinn; Blackman, Vydra, John
Subs: gk, Cooper, Griffin, Alex, HRK, McCleary, Liburd (Sa if fit)

I always thought he was a right back, but perhaps he's a centre back that can/does play right back.

So basically, I don't know.
