I went to a few places near Hull once.

Brough?

Well, you could say that.

There's a special place in Hull for the inventor of autocorrect.

Green Hull and Walsall - strong brace of towns there.

Lived here for more than 40 years. Not as bad as it's sometimes painted. UK City of Culture 2017 , ,,, you should visit and challenge some of your preconceptions!

All the people I know from Hull moved out as soon as they could !
But they all say the same - not as bad as you think.
none have gone back though.....

There again a lot of people like me stay. I never expected to when I came in 1973 for an interview for the Teaching course after University.
My children live in London & Leeds so there is some truth about people moving away.
Am currently at East Midlands Parkway.... which is definitely worse than Hull!

Thought you were predicting a Walsall win.

Then I realised they were reading players

floyd__streete the Black Country accent is so abhorent to me that I become a homicidal maniac if I ever hear it.

I think some folk on this site need to get a grip. It's just an accent. We all have one of some descript. One8seven1* says that they talk funny. ??????????? It's a dialect !!!!!!! You need to leave your Village for a day or two and see the Country, meet some people, educate yourselves.

Accents are one of the things that make travel in the Uk interesting and when at an away game it's always good to have a pint and a chat with an opposition fan that has a strong local accent. From Bristol to Norfolk to Yorkshire, the're all great accents.

Well that's a potential banana skin well negotiated. Are standards in League 1 falling away or is it just that Walsall are flattered by their lofty position? Today's result was a good one, if only because it will shut their arrogant and deluded fans up for a while.

Maybe a one off football result isn't a reflection of an entire 24 team division.

Aww poor wickle Walsall, seems all that crowing has come back to bite them. At least they're gracious in defeat:

random yam yam tw@t Finally, a word for Reading - what an utter dump. Ground miles away from the city centre in the middle of nowhere, barely any transport links to get there, dull stadium, half full, zero atmosphere and awful awful fans who only made a noise once they were leading. Won't bother going back to this dump

Don't worry mate, carry on like that and you won't have a chance of coming back any time soon.

So shit even Gunter put in a decent cross against them  .

Have to laugh at them really. Go on and on for weeks about how they've beaten championship sides this season and we're the weakest one they've faced. Then they get easily brushed aside 4-0 and start pissing and moaning because they get a bit of stick back.

It was a bit desperate that they could only return fire at the match with '3-2 on your big day out' as well. I mean, that was almost 15 years ago. We've since been to Wembley twice, won two Championship titles, had three top flight seasons, top half in one, and three FA Cup QFs. It was hardly our big day out.

At least we filled our allocation at Cardiff too. Unlike them.

and those black boxes with orange signs on top. I guess that's an alien form of transport for Walsall as well. Not sure their stadium is in the centre of a thriving metropolis either.

Yeah that was a bizarre one. Countless buses that go straight there from the station too, it's easy to get to.
