RichTea94 Have all our league goals so far been from set pieces?

If so, it's both an impressive improvement from the last few seasons and an indictment of our strikers.

Yes.

Corner against PNE, pen against Newcastle, corner and free kick today.

Even the Plymouth game was a free kick for the first.

Ian Royal Gooding gives MotM to VDB who scored an own goal and got sent off, for two yellows, one for dissent in the first half and one for getting done and pulling someone down in the second.

That will be our Mick on the radio. No complaints about his playing abilities but as a pundit, do me a favour.

If Van Den Berg hadn't been sent off, Kermorgant would have. Uneccecery 2 footed revenge tackle making no attempt at the ball that you could see coming 10 yards away. There was no need for that.

Would have solved another selection dilemma a la VDB.

Was in hostility today sat in SW corner and from where I was Joey had to "take one for the team" was surprised it wasn't a straight red tbf. Also agree that Kermit should have walked, saw that one coming a mile off.
On the plus side I had Swifty to score first at 14s and McShane to score anytime at 20s.

To be fair, he made a couple of brilliant tackles and kept his composure more than he did against Preston, he wasn't flying into tackles from behind as much. Also his first yellow was ridiculous, if he gets booked for talking to the linesmen you'd have to book most players on the pitch. The second yellow was a crucial foul after a great piece of skill and one any defender in his position has to make. Not MotM (McCleary IMO) but he's doing a fair job in a position clearly not his own. Just as well Moore has come in.

When he walked back on after being sent off, for the briefest of moments I thought he was going to enter Reading folklore and lay the ref out.

I'd probably take an instant relegation for that tbf.

For a midfield player slotted into a centre back role in an accomplished manner. You would never know it's not his normal position.

He deserved MoM for that bit of gamesmanship alone !

I thought he was losing his head, but it was exactly the opposite. He noticed that Cooper wasn't ready to come on, leaving us without a defender to cover the free kick, so he went back on and had a word with the ref, giving Cooper time to get ready and meaning we could make the sub before free kick was taken

Good man

Why do subs need so long to get ready to come on these days?

It wasn't that long ago that they just took off a tracksuit top, and they were ready to play. Now they seem to have to get changed first. Would it really be that difficult for a sub to be wearing his full kit already?

I am overjoyed that set pieces are something to get excited about again.

The last couple of season have been depressing, with winning a set piece not raising so much as a 'pffft' from most people
