Top Flight Who is Harrison?

We don't tend to perform after an international break.... McLeary and Williams, did they have far to travel?

I reckon we'll lose this one.

Reading 0 Ipswich 2

Can't see it happening, Ipswich are terrible away from home, they have recorded 2 away wins this calendar year.

Welcome to charityville Tractor boys.

2-1 to Ipswich
Swift on his return for us.

BBC Sport Jaap Stam's Reading could move third in the Championship with victory over Ipswich Town on Friday evening.

Thanks for that BBC. Most useless fact of the day. :|

I oxf*rd hope not. Considering our keeper has the ball at his feet more than our outfield players, and Jaakola's kicking, that would be a disaster.

Was terrible at Bristol Rovers. Decent shot stopper though.

Don't think so but I must admit, I stopped reading after I saw that.

Mick Mccarthy comes across as a real bad loser, his team were well beaten that night - he's still clutching at stores re: them having more chances etc.......... :D :D

Thought Jaakola looked good with his feet against Plymouth. And that beard is tdf.

Out of interest could you remind us of our results after each of the international breaks last season....

Williams would have travelled from no further than his house. The USA weren't playing games this break were they ?

I'll humour you!

Reading 5-1 Ipswich
Reading 1-0 Charlton
Reading 2-1 Bolton
Bolton 0-1 Reading

I'm going to assume you already knew we had a 100% record, hence why you brought it up.

Last season's results after international breaks would back up your assumption.

I'm looking forward to him stopping shots by jumping face first and nestling the ball in his beard.

Mick McCarthy “That was nuts, that result though. We had more shots than them, more corners, yet lost 5-1. They had six shots and scored with five of them

BBC Sport Shots: Home 10 Away 12
Shots on Target: Home 6 Away 3
Corners: Home 3 Away 2

Everything else he say's is pretty accurate though tbf.

3-1 home win.
Reading race up to 3rd.
Fulham and Huddersfield both lose, and the Tuesday game is brought forward to 3pm as a win would take Reading top.
A record crowd of 27k crap in against Brum after additional seats are added to.the stairways.

Going to be a tough game; we also need to keep an eye on Grant Ward as he could cause us problems.

Going for a 2-0 win.

It will be a very interesting game tonight. After 5 games every championship club will be well aware of the new Reading style of play and will come up with a plan accordingly. Our worst performances so far (Preston 2nd half / Wolves away) have come when sides have pressed us high up the pitch and our best performances have come when sides couldn't decide whether to press or not.
Based on what other managers now know I would expect sides to either go with a high press or not bother pressing at all and just drop back into their shape when our back four have the ball. My guess tonight is that Ipswich will go with the high press because they think we're not good enough to keep the ball under that kind of pressure.
I reckon that they are partly right but also that we're gradually improving at what we do. So, an entertaining game and a 2-1 home victory. If they just sit in then a boring 0-0 draw with our back four have 99% possession :-)
