George_
1. Arsenal
2. Chelsea
3. Leeds United
4. Liverpool
5. Newcastle United
6. Norwich City
7. Preston North End
8. Reading
9. Fulham / Bristol City
10. Northampton Town / Manchester United
11. Queens Park Rangers / Sunderland
12. Southampton / Crystal Palace
13. Stoke City / Hull City
14. Swansea City / Manchester City
15. Tottenham Hotspur / Gillingham
16. West Ham United / Accrington Stanley

Anyone but a Championship team away. Wouldn't mind 1 of Spurs/Palace/Southampton/Chelsea away.

Easiest game possible, at home.

I would like to see us play Preston North End, Gillingham or Accrington Stanley. We've already played the biggest team in the world when we beat Brighton yesterday, so it would be nie to have an easier game next round. Maybe if it's too easy, we could play with 10 men to even things up.

We ONLY get an easier tie after beating that Inter Galactic Behemoth of a club on the South Coast.

My only concern with getting United would be that they might be in good form by the time we play them.

I'm not about getting the big boys just yet, this is only the second time we've got this far in the last 10 or so years and people can belittle the cup as much as they like, and yes it's far less glamorous than the FA Cup and far less of a priority to most than the league, but I want us to do as well as we can in any game, league or cup.

Gotta get the big boys at some point if you're going to go any distance. Better next round than Qs, Semis or Final for the likes of Utd who are rarely beaten by a much smaller club at the business end of a competition.

Yeah true, good point.

Just as well we got Brighton this early, I feel a big club like that would have brushed us minnows aside in the semis or the final.

Would a Reading v Stoke final (Cor what a draw for neutrals and TV companies!) be a meeting of the two oldest clubs left in the competition?

As in teams that are still in or teams that aren't yet knocked out? Of the teams left Stoke vs Reading would be between the oldest clubs remaining, of all the sides who currently enter it would be Notts County vs Stoke.

Teams not yet knocked out... although I guess that's a bit lame and arbitrary.

Lets get a big team to test this squad further early in the season. Never been to 'The Bridge' or 'The Lane' to watch a live match so Chelsea or Spurs away would be my personal pick. Alternative would be Man Utd at our place.

Hope we don't get Leeds, with our suspensions kicking in we don't need ten tonnes of sh*t kicked out of our youngsters.

Dunno what I'd want, been to WHL a few times:

Spurs 2-2 Man Utd
Spurs 3-1 Man Utd
Spurs 2-2 Reading

Err...I was a United fan as a kid...anyway...WHL would be interesting as my brother-in-law is a Spurs fan so my nephews have ended up supporting Spurs and Reading...add Aldershot to that mix because they sometimes get taken there for kids training sessions and what not.

Spurs vs Reading would be an interesting one to test their loyalties, likewise I have never been to Stamford Bridge.

If you wanted to be really pedantic about how you've phrased it, you could say that any two teams that make it to the final would be the oldest clubs left in the competition.

But I'm not going to be that guy, so I won't. :D

Anyone but Arsenal. We always find a way to lose in style.

Someone in london would be great for a midweek adventure.

Really want West Ham away for the aforementioned reasons and to cross the Olympic Stadium off the list before the novelty of playing at a running track has completely worn off for their fans.

Stoke, Leeds or Hull away.....from a purely Northern Royal point of view....all of those are about an hour away from me......

Or Arsenal would be good for the LOLz
