Tiago will, supposedly, give pace to the back line and could well be ideal for a back three especially if McShane and Moore play more solid defensive lynch pin types roles

However Klopp and, it seems, other managers appear to have doubts about him in the physical hurly burly of Premiership. Let's hope that proves to be woefully inaccurate as if he can play well in the Championship then the, by comparison, actual powder puff pansiness of the Premier League really won't be a problem

Please also note, all you scapegoaters out there, that while he turns 24 next month his lack of games means he is still learning and will also need a few games to get up to match speed and fitness. Though if Stam can't teach him a thing or two then there really is no hope.

Onwards - and let's hope he leads us onto a first league win at Anfield next season :D

He can play against Fulham which surprises me. I thought you couldn't play a player who wasn't available for the original date of a rearranged match, but that is apparently not the case.

I think that applies to cup games. It would be daft to apply it to league games where the fixtures could be months apart.

Gunter-McShane-Ilori-Moore-Obita/Blackett sounds an awful lot better than Gunter-Moore-JVDB-Obita at the back

Hopefully this signing means returning to a back 5 and back to some sort of solidity

Is this going to get moved onto the Team board at any stage?

Or in keeping with the whole transfer are we going to wait over a week despite knowing it's official.

The look of the pitch in the official photo would suggest this was finalised a few days ago (with the player at least)

Really think this guy could be a great signing, he has pace which really helps, and apparently he is calm and composed on the ball with a good touch. I guess with playing a back three and having this guy on board it should give Al Habsi a few more options when playing out from the back, and not play our defenders into trouble at the corner flag lol.

So the big question mark is surely:

Gunter*, Moore, Ilori, Obita/Blackett

Gunter*, McShane, Moore, Ilori, Obita

or

Gunter*, Moore, Ilori, Blackett, Obita

I think I'm option 2 personally.

So will the prodigy who said that Ilori was off to Brighton now confirm that he will commit ritual disemboweling at half time during the next home fixture.

For me the future is
Watson McShane Ilori Moore Obita

If we can get an upgrade on McShane at some point then that would be good, and obviously it's based on having no idea if Ilori will be any good !

Option 2 massively with Blackett covering LB and LCB and Watson covering RB

Genuinely really like the look of that

This is a toughie! Of the 3 at the back options.

Option a:
----------Moore---Ilori---Blackett----------
Gunter-----------------------------------Obita
has the benefit of Blackett being a leftie however

Option b:
----------Moore--McShane--Ilori----------
Gunter-----------------------------------Obita
has the benefit of McShane's experience..

On that logic, we would be able to recall players we have sold or loaned out before that were part of the team for the original fixture....

Interesting use of the word 'logic' Jamie !

If you could only use the same players there would be a huge issue if a player had got injured between the fixtures and the rules forced you to select him !

I'm surprised you figured out what he said! I have read it 6 times and it only gets more confusing..
