Who do you want in the playoffs?

by genome » 29 Apr 2017 20:15

Poll time.

Lots of noise about wanting to avoid Fulham. Anyone will be tough. I'd quite like a trip to Craven Cottage again...

Huddersfield. Weds look like they have run into form. Fulham away first leg would be very tricky.

I didn't want Fulham. But I've thought about and I think let's just play them in the semis.

I think the pressure would be far greater if we were to face them in the final.

I think we could finally overturn them and then they'd be out the way. Leaving Huddersfield of SW to beat in the final.

Doesn't matter who we face . We won't win the playoffs . Would be nice to have a day out at Wembley , but we will fold and bottle it again .

Prefer Fulham in the semi's than the final.

The only way we are going up is via the automatic spots. We are cursed in the playoffs so I haven't even got my hopes up this year. Hopefully we add to the squad in summer with the Chinese investment and mount a serious push for auto next season.

Made for us to go up through the playoffs this year.
Little expectation, low pressure, will probably barely get a mention in the press as the Huddersfield/ Fulham love in gets underway.
Play whoever, scrap our way through. Would be great if McShane is fit, likewise McLeary.

Agreed, don't really care. All 4 teams are pretty well matched I'd say - all good but flawed.

Genuinely can't pick a winner from the 4, which should make it a good spectacle

What I'd be interested to see, and I'm sure someone will start a topic on it, but what team we should pick for it.

I'm confident we can beat anyone on our day; although we are all aware of our random away day capitulations. That's the Championship for ya!

It's got to be said that both ourselves and Wednesday have the most experienced and seasoned pros in our squads. I know it doesn't necessarily guarantee anything whatsoever, but I just get a feeling that it is going to count for a lot come the two-legged semis.

I want Fulham in the semis and with an almost fully fit squad we would put up a fight at the cottage on this occasion; I think our players have jaaps style ingrained completely now; and Fulhams less experienced players will falter when it matters most.

What I take from this poll is that everyone is scared of facing Ian Royal in the playoffs

To go up you've got to play two of three, can't rely on someone else knocking out the biggest threat.

I'm still amazed and delighted we're in the top six, so I'll take whoever comes and have already made my peace with expecting failure.

Every result from the last few weeks has been a bonus and the same goes for the three or four we have left.

Is anyone else enjoying the fact that we've been completely written off and everyone is saying Fulham have one hand on the trophy?

We have defied the odds all season, and we, and we can do it again.

In the six matches against the other playoffs teams, we've won 4, and our form over the last 8 games or so is as good as anyone's.

Well, if a team knocks out the biggest threat, by extension, that team becomes the biggest threat...

Doesn't matter who we play. Need the home leg second. This isn't like playing a normal league game. More like Europe. I'd expect Stam to field a defensive team. To play for a draw or narrow defeat in the away game. Then go full bore at home.

We have to beat them all so from a personal point of view, Fulham in the semis so I can go home and away and some Yorksire side in the final. Law of averages says we've got to win one........

Like we did at Norwich and Forrest....

I think the home tie v Fulham would be tougher. Have you seen their away record?

Imagine having to play both legs in his back garden due to his travel ban !

I think its easier to have the away game second as if the 1st leg is a draw, the second becomes a 1 off cup final almost so both teams will go for it.

Also with our away performances, we might already be out the tie by the second leg if we play away first.

If we are going to be making the journey home on 29th May as a Premier League club we will have had to overcome Fulham. So let's get them out the way first in the Semi's.

Other two don't concern me. We can take both down as shown recently v Wednesday
