I reckon he's just realised he doesn't have enough loyalty points for a play-off ticket, so is angling towards a freebie.

Obviously I mean't Paul McShane,...... you know the one who plays for Reading and used to star in the Nescafe Ads, or what that Ian McShane?

I really don't get this trend of newspapers "reporting" on what celebrities post on their social media accounts. We can already see what they posted, and others will share it with those that haven't (the point of social media)...

Forbury Lion It just occurred to me that maybe this is a public cry for help?

I for one have time for Dave Kitson, maybe he's a pcunt, maybe not but I've never met him so I won't judge.

I do recall one story that may not have been on the board, that was where he allegedly went to buy a new car and was clocked by the salesmen came over to him with £ signs in their eyes knowing he was a big earner they could upsell to, Kitson ignored them and went over to the sales person who clearly had no idea who he was.

Steve Sidwell on the other hand was a knob, I've heard how he was cocky and looking down on "regular" people when with Glen Little and Glen started chatting to them because he recognised them, not the other way round. Ian McShane is the same, happy to chat to anyone.

Not sure what this anecdote proves beyond the suggestion that he's potentially perceptive and frugally astute.

Solely because it's a very cheap and easy way to fill space or get a few 'clicks'

Still a bit baffled by this whole thing - the fact the Program seems to dedicate about 1/4 of its space to 106 and there are endless references to them. I've no doubt the club would welcome Kitson back any week if he wanted to. Seems a desperate attempt to seek attention which is a shame from a legend

Lol, yeah I know, I was being disingenuous. It's just really tiresome.

Journalism, on the whole, is shocking nowadays. I feel for some of the better and more insightful journalists out there because it must be so hard to fight against it.

I remember seeing him in Asda once and they had bananas on 3 for 2. Sidewell was there buying turkey twizzlers and nuts magazine and all sorts but Kits bought 2 bananas and got the 3rd one free.

The way it was told to me hasn't translated well into my post, basically he didn't seem comfortable with the fame aspect of being a footballer and just wanted to be left alone/treated normally.

I'm not sure the club should be rolling the red carpet out for the 106 lot at every game (some of them are still playing after all) but it was a shame that the first we heard about Bobby Convey's illness was someone on here sharing his instagram.

One get well message from the club and no more news...

A journalist would surely contact Kitson for comment, that^ isn't journalism

hes not moaning about the being left alone bit is he? hes saying that's what he wanted....

the second bit its correct and we don't do enough to honour that team. youd have thought the 15/16 season would have seen some sort of commemoration. and id certainly welcome any/all of them back and support th eidea they should be there at games, chattingto people in hospitality.

but yeah, he comes across as a bit weird.

still probably the best all round striker weve already had though, and I love his ginger head

Indeed. The way I read it I thought he was praising Madejski/Coppell for the way they dealt with him.
The second part is directed against the club not Mad/Cop.
Just needed a paragraph break between the two sections.

I remember seeing him do something similar back in 2005. He was at the Mad Stad kicking a football around and while Sidwell was playing keepy- uppy with the West Ham players, Kits picked up two goals and got another one for free. West Ham were always very generous to us like that back then.

I like Dave Kitson. I particularly like the fact that he has an opinion and isn't afraid to use it. Doesn't come out with all the usual cliches and will just speak his mind. Wish more people were like that rather than just spouting out the same old bollocks.

If Kitson is The Secret Footballer (it's pretty much a given isn't it?) it's worth pointing out that he's a manic depressive with suicidal tenancies so calling him out for being a bit weird and a nutcase probably isn't the most sensitive thing in the world.
