I support Reading and Middlesbrough. I look forward to being told what a shit fan I am and how I'm everything that's wrong with modern football.

Easy answer. NO.

One team. Reading. Born in Reading. Live in Reading. One team. Blue and White. Love the club, always have, always will.

47 years in. First game 1970. Season ticket since mid-1980s. Never EVER consider not renewing. You live once, and RFC are my team
till the day I die. Love it.

Hated last Monday. Bring on August 5th. Roll on again.

Only one team that I genuinely support, i.e. one team that I am truly emotionally invested in.

I do have a few teams that whose results I look up though:

Rochdale
Stevenage
Basingstoke
Maidenhead

While I'm not criticising having a second team...

...Middlesbrough?

bobby1413 I find it a bit of an "eye rolling" thing to say that "I don't have a connection with the club" when you don't even go.

I had a season out and like you I just felt a disconnect. I didn't know the players, barely knew the squad, I wouldn't have recognised them in the street, etc....

But when you do start going, week in and week out, including away games you start to get to know the players, recognise the way they move, you see their reaction and (hopefully) see how much they care when you win and lose. This is particularly relevant to a smaller club like Reading, and you're one of 200 going to a Northern game you really feel a part of it with the players.

How can people expect to feel a connection and feel some sort of bond and relationship if you're sat at home with teletext on not even going?

totally agree, this season has really made the 'proper fans' feel more part of the club than the recent seasons

What is a proper fan? That is a ridiculous phrase and I hate it. There is no proper fan or non proper fan.

That's why I put it in inverted commas, there is no definition but I believe there is a difference between fan, supporter and follower

Slough Town. Not so much "another" team but I'm from there.

I have seen OGC Nice over a few seasons. Great area to visit during football season when the prices drop and weather is decent all year round. Few times seen Nice and Monaco on same weekend. Home games 10-15 euros depending on who they play.

My father took me to Tottenham when I was 6. Was a standing season season ticket holder until my early 20's. Have a soft spot though not attached in the same way as I was. Firmly a Reading supporter now. Though do wander across the road to watch Swindon's games. As always interesting to watch as a neutral. Live football is far better than watching on the box.

I'm 63 years old and I'm not ashamed to say that I wept in the Wembley concourse on Monday. I've been supporting and going since I was 11. Another team? Never!

Have no interest in any other league club, follow Maidenhead on twitter after going to a few cup games the other year. Keep an eye on the scores of first foreign team I watch in any country, particularly Chievo.
I liked Liverpool when I was a kid in the 80s and didn't know any better so are narrowly the team I would prefer to win PL, but couldn't give a monkeys about it really

I have a mantra/superstition.

20 minutes before the start of every game: "I couldn't support any other team."

I do have a soft spot for Shrewsbury.

Davezk No... you can only have one team who you support properly

I will argue with that - I 'support' Reading, i.e. I buy a season ticket therefore I support them financially, isn't that what supporting means? I am a fan of another club, i.e. I don't give them any money for a couple of reasons the main one being they are 440 miles away from where I live in Wokingham. I 'support' my local team which is Reading but am originally from Ayrshire and my local club was Kilmarnock. I moved here in '04 and started following Reading that year although didn't start 'supporting' until a couple of years later - actually the year when they got relegated from the PL 1st time! I can remember being lifted over the turnstile at Rugby park by my dad and getting a pie and a bovril at half time (which gave me terrible hiccups), I remember asking dad 'why is it called the stand when everyone is sitting down?' happy memories. So IMO you can have another team.
