windermereROYAL And a chance for revenge after they stuffed us at home at the same stage some years ago,

We've played them twice, once we won 2-1, the other they won 1-0.

Are you thinking of the 6-0 thrashing by Peterborough during Adkins first season?

Nope I forgot the 2-1 game.

Couldn't get a ticket last time we played there; hopefully better luck this time.

Happy with that, relatively near against a non divisional opponent and we should win.

AthleticoSpizz ex-Royal Kevin (bloody) Watson coaches there ....was still registered as a player recently.....dunno if he still is?....

deliberate edit.......expect to hear him pop-up on BBC Berks a few times prior to the game

Watto is manager at Bishops Stortford, not Stevenage.

Perfect for me. I live in Stevenage!! The Lamex Stadium is situated just off the A1(M) so very convenient for those driving although parking will be a pain. Details at https://www.stevenagefc.com/siteassets/ ... -final.pdf

windermereROYAL And a chance for revenge after they stuffed us at home at the same stage some years ago,

They played very well that day deserved the win Brian picked a strong side. Did us favour in the end as we went on to win the league.

Indeed. Nicky Shorey is a coach at Stevenage. And the irony.... if Stevenage had lost Saturday Reading would have got a trip to Sw*nd*n but instead they put 5 past them. And watch out for a fairly useful chap they picked up from the V9 Academy (this is the Academy that runs in the summer to help non-league players attract attention from FL and PL clubs) called Danny Newton.

Pretty decent prematch last time at Our Mutual Friend, but getting out afterwards was tricky having street parked near the pub.

To answer a few questions ...

Apparently there is a shuttle bus service from the station (£1.50) but the ground's only about 1 mile away so it's walkable. 'The Standing Order' is a Wetherspoons pub in the town centre about 10 minutes walk from the station. It is also right next to the bus station and the shuttle bus stops there as well as at the train station.

'Our Mutual Friend' is a pub less than half a mile from the ground and would be your best bet if you drive and take advantage of the free parking at Fairlands Valley car park. The ground is a 1 mile walk away from the park and the pub is in Broadwater Crescent about 1 minutes walk from the Esso garage on the roundabout. So park - about 2/3 mile walk to pub - about 1/3mile walk to the ground.

The South Stand is designated for away supporters and it is all-seated and holds 1,500. There are terraces for home fans in North and East stands. This and more info on the Stevenage website which is here - https://www.stevenagefc.com/siteassets/ ... -final.pdf

Ooops! Having seen the map on the club's website I see that I have confused the car park at Fairlands Valley (which is a mile away from the ground) with the Fairlands Valley car park which is about 5 minutes walk from the ground! 'Our Mutual Friend' is about 5 minutes walk in the opposite direction! My apologies.
