Bruce Stuckey is living in semi- retirement in the town of his birth, Torquay. I bumped into him in the Clocktower pub when on holiday there a couple of years ago. He is a great raconteur and enjoyed telling stories about playing against the likes of Pele in the North American Soccer League, and playing in the Newcastle-Sunderland Derby. I say semi-retirement as I think he was doing the rounds as an entertainer in the Torquay hotels.

Marcus Hahnemann has a truck repair business in Seattle and is lead singer in a death metal band that has had some success in the States recently.

Danny Guthrie runs a wedding planning business in the north east.

Hope Akpan has given up.

Does that include lobbing lobster around at the reception followed by a mass brawl with your mates and the in-laws before the Bizzies are called?

You got my hopes up! Saw them play my local team last season and was looking for when they were due to play them this season, had no luck and then remembered they won promotion last season and are now step 3.

Not really. It was only Sandman, and he only said it because he got fed up with people criticising Federici. Actually, many were pushing for him to get an England call up when he was here (only for Silver Fox to reveal that Clemence didnt rate him as much as we did). His sale was one of those *smh* moments. Really glad he's got his career back on track after a really ropey time at QPR. One of the top shot stoppers.

He did get a call up while he was here didn't he?
I just seem to remember him being heavily criticised for his distribution.

Actually, maybe he did - you could be right.
Yeah, his distribution wasnt great, but his ability to keep the ball out of the net more than made up for it. He was a young keeper, absolutely the future of Reading. More so than Federici. To see him go to QPR and basically disappear was heartbreaking.
