Hound That stats man Ram put up some stuff on twitter about Pele, Puscas and Joao. Stats wise they are very strong - surprisingly Joao particularly. Have to think Weds missed a trick with him really

Wednesday supporting chum doesn't rate him very highly. Says he's good on his day but that's not often enough and the reason he doesn't start regularly is because he doesn't put the performances in to justify it.

NotARacist So Gomes mentioned that it will be 4 or 5 U23 academy players in and around the team.

Who we thinking?

Loader
Olise
McIntyre
Barrett
Richards/Howe?

I dont think hes counting Rinomhota.

I would not be suprised if Holsgrove was not kept around aswell

This was all discussed days ago.

You would hope Jose can get the best out of him.

Plus, we won't be sticking the ball into the channels every two minutes for him to chase.

Yeah. Didnt pull up trees in a well balanced position for us. Likely out on loan or sold.

Players with 20 first team appearances are not really Academy players any more
Assuming Jose is looking at players yet to play more than a handful of games then you’d look at
MccIntyre
Olise
Barrett
Howe
East
On the basis he’s already given them first team appearances.
Possibly one or other of the young keepers might also train with the first team keepers and travel to games

Looks like the squad will be completed by Ejaria on loan while Wolves have signed Loader permanently for a currently undisclosed sum.

Other exit deals for players can still be done into Europe and the lower leagues until 2 Sep so we may still see some squad reduction in the next 3/4 weeks or so.

Good work all round. Obvs been nice to shift a few more, but the Loader fee probably calms and FFP fears for the time being

Now to shift out a load of U23s to Div1 and 2. Prob worth letting both Howe and Watson go if Gunter is sticking around. East, Holsgrove, maybe Barrett and Richards might all benefit

Yeah very nice. Guessing we won’t have a ‘first 11’ as such, more a first 14-15 that will change as we go

Rafael
Yiadom
Moore
Miazga
Blackett

Pele
Rino (Ejaria)
Swift (Olise)

Meite (Barrow)
Puscas
Joao (Boye)

Other subs:
Virginia
Morrison
Adam

In reserve: Nova, Baldock, Gunter, McCleary, Barrett, McIntyre, Richards, Obita

You’re right, it’s pretty bloody strong

Snowflake Royal
Gunny Fishcake Reminds of of the late Tommy Burns transfer spree when he signed about eight players in one day back at Elm Park in 1998 . We were all so excited, finished 11th that season

The magnificent 7. We got relegated.

I stand corrected , it was following season we finished 11th , after those seven signings we finished rock bottom

Damage had been done long before they signed though and to be fair, as I recall, the performances actually “picked up” a bit after they joined.

Also is it still a British record to bring in 7 on a deadline day?

Ejaria can play there, be he will have been signed for a more attacking position imo.

Still, the fact were talking about it shows the depth.

Seems the deal for Loader is off.

From SSN

17:50
WOLVES DISAPPOINTED OVER LOADER

Wolves have been described as “disappointed and confused” after Reading pulled out of the sale of Danny Loader.

Wolves had agreed a multimillion-pound deal with the Royals to sign the striker he was ready to join the club.

But the Championship side did not sign off on the deal before the deadline.

Loader is understood to have trained at his current club on Deadline Day, thinking he would still be heading to Wolves by 5pm.

Gomes seems to be strong with man management and team morale and isn't afraid to make the hard decisions. Imagine if each one of these signings is as impactful as the 5 in January were.

First 15 or so will be fine as long as they get games when deserved. Adam be ok on the bench. Same with Olise

Richards, Barrett, McIntyre will be happy enough with 10-15 games or so I reckon and he’s already pissed the others off anyway
