Hughton was never going to be a quick fix. Didn't do spectacularly well in his first (half) season at Brighton, were calls for him to be sacked at the end of that season, the rest is history. Obviously it isn't part of Forest's "identity" but they need to stick with Hughton, they'll reap the rewards in the long term

Could have done with forest getting a result there really

They were pretty terrible though. Certainly not upset seeing them near the bottom

It's pretty unimportant at the mo if we are 1st, 5th or 6th. The important thing was getting that win on Saturday and looking good doing it.

2 points separating top and us in 5th, things will shift every game now - can't see anyone really pulling away as we almost threatened to do.

Interesting* this midweek - only Bournemouth of the clubs above us play tomorrow but we could find ourselves back down to 7th if Bristol and Brentford win at QPR and Rotherham respectively.

Also of note, of the current top 7, only Bournemouth play at home this midweek - Swansea and Norwich face top half opposition else rest face struggling sides.

Tues

Bournemouth (2nd) v Preston (18th)
QPR (15) v Bristol City (6)
Rotherham (19) v Brentford (7)

Weds

Middlesborough (10) v Swansea (4) (7pm)
Forest (21) v Watford (3)
Luton (12) v Norwich (1)
Weds (23 - would be 19th without the deduction) V Reading (5)

This post goes to Limbo, but...

Against 7 of the top 11, 3 Home, 4 away
We have W3, D2 L2 GD 11-11

That is very decent, and we could so easily have more points

1st

2nd Away L 2-4 Bournemouth
3rd Home W 1-0 Watford
5th Home W 3-1 Bristol City
6th
7th
8th Home L 0-3 Stoke
9th Away W 4-2 Blackburn

10th Away D 0-0 Middlesbro
11th Away D 1-1 Millwall

We could have, should have scored a few in
the first half v Stoke. Crazy result.

Bournemouth should have been closer. Our GD suffered because of "meaningless" late goals v Preston, Stoke, BMTH

Forest did look absolutely dire - more of the same please come Saturday.

Funny how a number of teams who had play off aspirations pre lockdown and fell away have continued that trend in this new season aka Derby, Forest, Preston.

Seems to be a fairly consistent pattern that teams who finished badly have continued to do so. See Sheffield Utd in the PL too. We must be a rare exception given the way we ended last season.

Scott Sonclair has just scored a stunner to put Preston 2-0 up away to Bournemouth

Seems they’re missing Stacey and Riquelme hasn’t looked great either

Reckon we got super lucky playing derby first up tbh. Gave us a huge boost easily winning the first game
