Chameleon We really need to get 6 points out of the next couple of games. I guess this loss sort of confirms that there are only really 8/9 teams seriously in the running for playoffs, which is nice. If we're still in the playoffs come the Wycombe game then automatics may be possible.

royalp-weroyalp-we Refs are looking suspect every week this season. Bournemouth fans only right to feel aggrieved after their shocking red card decision today.
Lovely stuff
Swansea go 2-0 up at Barnsley. Poor officiating again - blatantly offside

Realistically only Boro, Stoke and maybe Bristol City are a threat to the top six. The problem is we are hopeless in the play offs.

Hound Can’t see Bristol. Stoke are on poor form and have lost their best player. And don’t think they are up to much without him
Colin and Boro worry me. Obviously knows the division etc, so absolutely delighted to see them screw up today
I’d be pretty disappointed not to get the play offs from here
Auto is possible - Swansea look solid if unspectacular, Bournemouth are wobbling and untested manager. Brentford are decent but fixture pile up and bottle. They aren’t as good as last year imo. Watford don’t seem the happiest of camps

WoodleyRoyal I guess we have to trust our scouting system. We’ve followed this guy for a while now. He’s obviously been a long term target. And we haven’t signed too many duds in the last couple of years. So I’m hopeful he can do a job for us.

On the other hand, as a long term target, he's been on our mind during one of our worst periods for making decent signings.
You'd assume the reason we're still looking at him is because he wasn't one of the many shit ones from then. But his record seems fairly uninspiring.

Our interest in him first surfaced less than a year ago. I think our signing record has been pretty decent since the Gomes loan splurge. As was initially reported he had an exceptional scoring record at u23 level.
To me he looks like a Meite type signing - probably not going to make a splash in the first team immediately but seen as being one we can get cheap with the potential to develop.
Which is fine, but maybe not the answer to our immediate needs.

May need to cast the net wider. Lots of potential for other teams to “join the pack”, there usually is one team from mid table who surge up
Blackburn not had the season they’d hoped for after a strong start but wouldn’t rule them out
Not sure Stoke have enough firepower to hit the top 6, lost a lot of attacking impetus without Campbell and Fletcher, huge losses for them

I think the thing with Blackburn is their defence can be a bit ropey. But they would be one to watch as they certainly have goals in them.

Stranded This midweek round of fixtures could start to see a gap growing.
Of the chasing pack - Bristol have to go to Norwich, whilst Stoke go to Rotherham and Boro head to an improving Forest.
Could easily see all 3 dropping points and with Barnsley travelling to Watford, if we and Watford both win - then you start to see a 6 or 7 point gap open between the play-offs and the rest. Not insurmountable obviously but a definite start of a potential breakaway by the top 6.

Yeah, I think that’s half their problem, their set up leaves too many holes to exploit - often play wingers at FB for example
Strangely enough, they have the same number of goals conceded as us, but they have 5 more goals, yet we’re 7 points ahead with a game in hand - shows our tendency to win by a smaller margin
And noticed Swansea have only conceded 13 goals in 24 games, extremely good record
