leon I’m struggling to suppress the conclusion that he doesn’t know how to put a team together to compete in this league.

And if that’s the case then we need someone who can, otherwise we are fcuked.

Perhaps if he was choosing which players to sign it would help instead of them being foisted on him

He doesn’t pick the team and make the substitutions then?

Can only pick from what he is given.

Link :?: I thought It was made quite clear that our chief exec can’t speak English and pauno was given complete license to sign the players including doing the contract negotiations.

You believe everything the club say.

Can't give a source, it's how it works.

Fair enough. And interesting if true how many/who of the 6 were not his?

Millsy Wow.

I was very close to Pauno Out last season when most were gushing over him finishing us 7th, and I've been anti-Pauno this season but come on this is all reactionary negativity here just because we didn't win.

That was a fantastic game, we were very good and the signings that we've seen are generally good.

Ok shite substitution, shite defending as ever but let's not be too harsh on Pauno, that was a MASSIVE improvement.

How was it an improvement? We conceded 3 goals again!!!!!!

The performance. We looked pretty good. We also scored 3 and could/should have won that game. 3-3 at the death feels like a defeat but against high flying QPR a draw/almost-win is a good result.

Well the ‘performance’ is both the attack and the defence

The attack, esp in the second half looked bright, fast and incisive with some great finishing from Swift. We were all over them at 2-1

However the defence was an absolute shambles from start to finish. So half the performance was a massive improvement and the other half was exactly the same

Yes I should have said attacking performance you're right. Spot on that attacking performance, large improvement but defence same old shite.

Overall that's an improvment though

Like a lot of other managers then. He can’t organise the team.

Genuine question. You've got a defence coach who organises the defence to mark zonally, and does it sort of well enough to be successful (last season in the fluke honeymoon period).

Then he buggers off and your star left back buggers off too.

You're a manager, you're not a defence expert.

Do you just undo everything the defence specialist did? Do you have the qualifications and know how to do that?

I honestly don't know, interested to know how others think it works.

Give him a couple of games with Scott Dann (possibly after the Derby away game) and if we’re still conceding 3s and 4s he’s got to walk.

Anything less than a win on Tuesday and he will be gone.

I was watching him all game ( seated near him). He seemed pissed off a lot of the time.

As I said elsewhere, he really should have subbed Ejaria at 3-1. He was knackered.

I don't think we were any better going forward than vs Preston or Bristol City. Reliant on Swift too much

Yep this. I have no problem with the sub, most managers would make it but it should have been Ejaria off as Puscas was the outlet ball and did a bloody good job today.

The main issue today was not manager led it was Morrison and Moore falling asleep in the 90 secs after we score meaning a simple cross found an unmarked Gray. 3-2 and momentum shifts esp after Puscas' header goes just the wrong side of the post.

Longest serving manager under the current owners. Can’t say he hasn’t been given time. Even with the injuries we have a team that should be mid table. What is it now 2 wins in our last 18 league games :|

I disagree. I know seems silly to say after he got a hat trick but today we had threats everywhere and that was what caused QPR problems - we were actually less reliant on him in the build up to chances which is why he was able to score them.

First was an exquisite ball from Halilovic, left Swift with an easy task really. Even Puscas looked a strong part of the attack and was linking wonderfully as well as bring close to creating things for himself.

I agree but this is finally close to his team. We win with Dann on the pitch. We have enough going forward to hurt every side in this division and until the CBs clocked off after our 3rd, it was a solid defensive performance undone by poor decisions allowing a quick reply.

VP erred by taking off the wrong player but I sense a decent run is not far off.

Yeah disagree on the sentiment but we were pretty good going forward against PNE as well

That is Pauno’s biggest problem…he is too conservative in big moments. He often tries to hold what we have. It hardly ever works because our defence is average at best…

I think that’s the optimistic way of looking at it - not saying it isn’t the case but I really fear for us at the back

MM, Moore and Rafael are woeful. Yiadom was a bit better today but Rahman seems pretty similar - does some great stuff but seems to leave a lot of space in behind

I do like the look of us going forward. Puscas much better today and still Joao hopefully to come back reasonably soon relatively

The issue is that we play perhaps a little high and this needs to be rectified. But it is small tweaks now. Overall, and again I know it sounds stupid but there were definite improvements defensively today undone, for me, by a lack of concentration after they thought the game was won.

Most managers would have made a defensive change, it was just the wrong one to take off. Puscas keeps 2 defenders tied to him whereas Ejaria was understandably done.
