NathStPaul Wasn't Southwood man of the match against QPR?

Yeah, one of the better performers.

'Brave' choice by Paunovic dropping Swift and Southwood. But at least he's binned off Drinkwater. Good luck to Hein, there'll be a feeding frenzy if he makes a mistake.

Will TDB be central and Ince and Hoilett wide, or will TDB be deep, Ince behind the striker and Rino RW?

Yes, "brave" ?
Easy to make these decisions if you know that whatever the result you will still be in a job afterwards.

A decent balanced side. It looks good but the mental strength will be the test.
Laurent and Rhinomota can reform a decent understanding again without Drinkwater being shoehorned in the team.

Notts Royal Hasn’t Ejaria been a disappointment pretty much every season he’s been here? The odd purple patch, but he’s lacked impact.

Logically that should be a 4-3-3, Ince & Hoilett wide forwards. Undoubtedly, Pauno will find a way to oxf*rd it up though.

Not against big changes, but dropping Southwood is a bizarre one

First season ok, showed potential.
Second season, potential and should start delivering after the experience
Third season, no improvement, delivering less if anything

Not saying he’s been rubbish, but in each of those seasons there were plenty of comments saying he was ineffective, slows the game down, etc

I like the side - feels balanced at last (assuming Laurent and Rino are DCM) and Swift needed a rocket having been unstoppable despite not performing since October.

Excited to see Ince and Hoilett buzzing off Joao.

I very much doubt it is Pauno’s decision to drop Southwood so not brave. I read on the Arsenal website that they were lending out Hein to get game experience and so they would not have allowed him here unless he came as first choice. I expect this is another of Kia’s dodgy deals.

Ejaria is a luxury player. Good if the side are playing well.

When you are getting hammered the goalkeeper is in the game a lot and it is usual for him to make many saves and not at all unusual for him to have a good game . It’s not an unusual situation . My opinion is that he has in general struggled at this level .
This does not make Hein a good keeper , I have not seen him and have no idea what he is like . Let’s be open minded and wait and see .

According to Wiki, Karl Hein has made 0 first team appearances for Arsenal, so he's making his league debut in English football. This looks like one hell of a gamble.

andrew1957 Not surprised Southwood dropped as we clearly promised Arsenal that Hein would be first choice but I think it is a disgraceful decision - especially as Southwood was arguably MOTM against QPR. I can only imagine the howls on here if Hein makes some errors tonight and costs us 3 points. He had better be very good.

Hein could be twice the player Martinez was for all I care and I’d still disagree with the decision.

That's what's worrying me. The next 7 days will be season defining, so is this the right time to give a young lad his debut?

As I said earlier he had better be very good or there will be an outcry on here and our own Andressen has more than 50 league appearances and so if Southwood needs a rest why not give him a go.
