Let's face it, if someone actually wants to go, you can stop them.

What are you going to do? Sue them for breach of contract for 4 months of shockingly awful results they won't deliver.

Get to oxf*rd.

Dai Yongge needs to sell up if this is true. He hasn't the faintest clue how to run a football club. What a joke

andrew1957 On his proper twitter account ITK Eddie says that the situation is more complex than we know but not sure what he can say. I do wonder if we might have been harsh on Pauno. We just don't know what lunacy he has faced behind the scenes. It doesn't change my mind that he needs to go now - "but" if he did offer to leave and was asked to stay, then at least he can leave with honour intact in my opinion. The worry is that if things are entirely toxic behind the scenes it won't matter who we bring in to replace him and most of the players will want out in the summer. It seems to be a horrible mess.

At least we can agree on this thread :D

Been pointed out that Dai Yongge's KSV Roeselare and Beijing Chengfeng FC are now bust.

I don't think we would realistically cease to exist but it doesn't fill me with confidence, especially after hearing all the nonsense that has come out today.

Netflix have missed a trick not filming us this season. We're a bigger shambles than Sunderland.

TBH I think the whole ‘Pauno offered to leave’ is a nice soundbite but totally irrelevant

Suspect he got a bollocking and said ‘if you don’t want me I’ll resign but you’re paying up my contract’.

Club said no but now sees little choice than to sack him and pay him in full or are negotiating the pay off atm

It doesn’t really change my view of Pauno at all other than he’s a bit of a quitter as well. Not like he’s gone in and just torn up his contract and walked away without a pay off

McDermolenko What an incredibly odd dynamic.

If Paunovic really has asked to leave and been refused, you’d have to imagine it’s on the basis of whatever payoff he is expecting.

Are we now living in hope that Dai and Paunovic can find a middle ground in all of this? All the while we’re supporting a team of players who don’t believe in the manager and a manager who doesn’t believe in himself.

We don't even need to pay him off. Just stick the nugget on gardening leave. He walks away in June any way. We are run by a complete goon!

Ah, but you are assuming there is someone in the club commercially savvy enough to get our 150th year filmed........

Well yes, but they’ll try to negotiate paying him less than that. That’s the max he’ll get paid. That saving could go to a new boss

Jnr quoting some guy who works for Bangkok News who has nailed a lot of stuff about Reading in the past saying Pauno is being sacked but the hold up is negotiation of his compensation package. Can’t we just pay off the remainder of his contract?

The source is Huang Kad on Twitter. This guy has tweeted for years on Reading.
No idea if valid.

5 and a half hours left of "The Day That Pauno Got Sacked" and still Pauno hasn't been sacked.

Does it have to happen on the hour or can it happen at any time?
Will it be put out late like the Liam Moore statement?
What image will be used - a corner flag or something else?

That’s basically what I suggested is going on above ^^^

I’m sure we can pay it off but money is tight and it <may> impact who we can bring in. So why should we just give in and pay him out without at least trying to save some of it?

Think eddies tweet has ruffled a lot of feathers but actually it’s pretty standard stuff I expect. Stuff like CF’s tweet ‘manager tries to walk’ - not that helpful. Basically just getting in before he is sacked and get the pay off
