I think he will stay. Beginning to think he is enjoying it now things are looking a bit better, and he may want to try and prove his critics wrong. Reading Barnsley and Derby forums they thought he would have the opposite effect. Even his ex clubs were telling us his faults. We might be exactly what he needs to prove them wrong. I'm starting to like him now anyway....just for the honesty at times.

Bearing in mind that we will most likely have a very depleted squad next season (no Laurent, Swift, Drinkwater, Rino etc) the best we can realistically hope for is survival and Ince does seem to have given us a bit more backbone. Seeing the game out was hardly comfortable last night bit was achieved - which seldom happened with Pauno. So my view is why not give Ince a one season contract. Then if it does not work out it won't cost the earth.

Snowflake Royal If History can be relied upon, he'll keep us up with a slightly disappointing finish. Get the gig. Start next season badly and be gone sometime between October 2022 and January 2023.

Whereas if he keeps us up and then leaves. The next guy will get us to the top 10 and a whisker from promotion, be hailed as the messiah and then have us in a relegation fight in 23/24, getting sacked in March / April 24.

I've seen those films several times already though, so would be grateful if we could get out of this time loop.

You are such an optimist....

Reading have asked Paul Ince to continue as the club’s manager next season. [@TheSundayMirror] #readingfc https://t.co/6FMVwEtYET

Just as I thought, Dai totally clueless really had noone else set up for this 'interim' manager, in case he was shit.

Still.. he's done ok so far and deserves his chance.

Too early to make that decision still. Ince hasn't had 10 games in charge, let alone 10 games where he can apply his approach.

If we finish the season badly, say lose another 3 of the last 5 and it looks a poor decision.

Poor optics making it after losing a game we were leading and dominating at HT as well.

Dai is clueless.

Is it too much to hope that we might go for Sean Dyche now? Someone who, you know, actually has experience and a track record of success for a club of Reading's size.

Bigger, wealthier clubs, who are more likely to have success than Reading FC, will be queuing up to employ Sean Dyche.

Given the near comatose nature of some Reading player's and staff performances in the last 5 years, a Sean Dyche type manager would be spot on to shake the primadonna's up! There must be more accessible managers like him at lower levels!

Sean Dyche is a great shout. Pochettino will also be available in the summer. Could maybe even tempt Fergie or Wenger out of retirement.

Of those listed immediately prior to your post you pick out Dyche as the least likely

OK, works for me

In more realistic terms, just had Soccer Special on the TV and they've been commenting on the work done by Liam Manning at MK Dons this season. Young manager, developing young players, good style of football, seems like he'd fit the bill quite well if we could tempt him away which we should do providing we are playing in a higher division next season. Could do even if MK Dons go up anyway.

Anyone that backed Paul Ince on Bet Victor as next Reading manager can now collect as this is his 10th game as interim which is classified as a winner.
