4-4 Draws

by Tony Le Mesmer » 20 Apr 2022 12:51

Anyone know when our last 4-4 draw as in the league prior to Monday?

I could go to the loft and dig out the history books, but someone must have it all on a spreadsheet. There was the Arsenal cup tie that was technically a 4-4, but in the league i cant think of another 4-4 draw in a league game since i started watching Reading in 1979.

Am sure someone posted here or on Twitter that it was in 1959 but I can't recall who the opponents were.

Far too young to remember that one…aren't we all, however…

FC HNA 4 Team Burbs 4 was a scoreline back in March 2004 that made the headlines.
“The ‘Burbs buggered off humiliated in their Hyundais, the oaps (and Ian) went for a beer”

NO! I was a teenager then. I don't remember the game so it could have been a Saturday I was rostered to work.

FA Youth Cup QF a few years back (Fosu Stacey era) 4-4 v Liverpool at Madstad. We won on pens.

"in the league" being the crucial sentence. Plus I'd argue that was 2-2 (4-4 AET). On the other hand the 7-5 against Arsenal in the League Cup was really 4-4 (5-7 AET).

Was that before Clubs were allowed to charge for entry to games on a Sunday, so entry was only allowed if fans bought a program with free entry? I really cannot remember when that law was dropped. How times change!

Not a clue, the only cash that changed hands was at the bar.
