I think Laurent deserves a special mention for this season especially for how he played during the injury crisis. He's covered at centre back, covered all the central midfield positions and chipped in with a few goals.

yes, it is difficult this year, but I'd go with Laurent too.

Special mention to Mcintyre for those two recent, late goals, and to Joao for his scoring record.

With a defence that has conceded 84 goals I can't go for any of them although, as many have said, Yiadom is the trier of the year.

Without the contributions of Swift and Joao we would be looking at Div 1 football next season IMHO so I'll go for Swift because of his exceptional figures for the first half of the season which would often be good enough for the whole season.

Yiadom and Swift both in the Whoscored team of the season, which probably highlights just how shit the rest of the team has been for the most part.

Laurent has been excellent in the last month but generally had a poor season before that

Certainly a very good player though

Hugely improved under Ince, along with Drinkwater. However both have been pretty poor/average for the rest of the season.

Yeah, brilliant when he came in as CB. Pretty poor in defensive midfield. Much improved going forward now, but still lacking on the defensive side when it comes to tracking and staying goal side. But better.

The defensive side of the game isn't particularly his strength to be fair.

Think it was to a much greater extent last season.

In fact I'd go as far to say once Pauno encouraged him and Rino to push forward more is when we started to fall apart having been solid as a rock prior.

I think it's probably because of how they complemented each other as a pair and, as you say, because Pauno asked them to play higher up. So that meant that both, but probably more Rino, couldn't cover the space in front of the defence and the defence couldn't cover the space in behind them either.

Shame an award voted for by the fans isn’t being announced and presented in front of the fans.....

Not sure how Joao isn't getting more of a shout. Look at his goals record since coming back from injury in January. 10 goals from 21.

If it weren't for those goals we'd be fcuked.
