Some effort by Ince - to turn around a 0-4 and produce a 3-0 against the form team in the division in a few days is quite startling. Whatever he said to the players worked.
Fitness is obviously right. To play to that intensity for 90 minutes is hard, to do it without emptying the bench even harder. Obviously not everything at Bearwood is dysfunctional.
There is nothing g wrong with the attitude of the players. Every single one committed to that performance and every single one delivered. They worked for each other, were sharper than Blackburn and to use the old cliche they wanted it more.
Fair play to Lumley. He would have known everyone was holding their breath the first few times the ball went near him. He didn’t look like a guy who had a nightmare on Saturday.
The connection between team and players is much, much stronger. Huge support for them yesterday, led by C1871 but rolling right round the ground.
Crucial that Dai was there. To see the performance, to witness the result, to take in the support.
Loved the ripple of applause that broke out on the 10 minute mark recognising that we still had a clean sheet.
Amused that Blackburn were complaining we were timewasting 6 minutes into added time when they were 3-0 down and wouldn’t have scored if we’d walked off the pitch and left them on their own.
If any club were there looking at Brereton-Diaz they possibly left early. Every touch dropped his value another few quid. ok just one game, and it doesn’t make him a bad player, but he looked very ordinary last night.
