Interesting* move. Wonder if the short lived Watford connection will work against him if things start slowly. Luton feels like a better fit for him.

Seems like a decent move for both parties there and I think he will do well personally. It's a decent set up at Luton with a club who are looking to progress, be interesting to see how he gets on and what the expectations are for him, some big boots to fill.

It’s not like us this year where we’ve just had to cut right back - they surely need to make a huge profit this season and that isn’t happening

They used to sell very well - but think they reinvested a lot of that on pretty average players on high wages

Bristol City were panicking behind the scenes last summer, so next season will most definitely be interesting for them. Lots of cutting back to do, but they don't have a great deal of quality to sell. Definitely worth having some popcorn at the ready.

Seems their wages has gone down by about £5m, but there are still players like Wells that are earning in excess of £20k a week according to some reports which he doesn't justify.

We were in a better position as we've had players that could have been sold over the years. Literally if we sold Moore and Swift when interest was high, we could have pocketed £10-15m for both of them and how different the situation would have looked then. Hindsight is 20-20 I suppose.

You'd think so, although I think 2 of these 4 years are averaged. I don't know if it's the £10m and £38m loss or the £38m and £26m loss etc. I don't really think it would matter though; they will have to make a profit (probably substantially) next year in order to avoid punishment.

They'll probably point to Covid ruining the transfer market as a reason, something their CEO keeps alluding to, which might soften their punishment. But it may end up being a 6-9 points deduction next season I'd imagine if this trend keeps going.

That drops out for the next calulation period, so they start the next period at nearly -43m, so to get back in line with the current rules, they will need to make around a 4m or yes, they will breach by a mile.
