Well that late Man U winner was a right kick in the balls because Chelsea wouldn`t have had anything to play for, have to accept it`s championship football next season now.

Will they stay at the Madejski though ?
Championship football is not quite the draw for a lot of the younger fans who come to see the Leah Williamsons,Fran Kirbys...etc

Jackson Corner Whilst I make no apologies for my earlier rant. I of course realise that Reading cannot compete financially with the big 4 especially in the WSL. However both Brighton and Leicester who up until Christmas were below Reading and suffered some horrific thrashing’s. Both clubs changed managers and improved while we got worse, yesterday was a prime example we beat Spurs at the SCL yet yesterday they ran rings round us. And what has upset me most with the recent performances is we have not competed these women are professional it’s there job they train all week.
And whilst they may not match teams in terms of ability. Physically and mentally and with some sort of organisation they should at least make it harder for teams to beat us instead of being trounced every week.

I believe both the clubs you mentioned ( Brighton and Leicester) were able to go out in the transfer window and significantly strengthen their squads with some quality players. Reading didn't have the financial backing to allow them to do that.

However, I do agree that the tremendous fighting spirit that saw us get some great surprise results against the 'big girls', and a good number of points against the rest, over the past couple of seasons seemed to have completely deserted us this season.

Odds of 25/1 being quoted for a Reading win. Chelsea are 1/33.

I expect the women's team to be scaled back/scrapped now we've been relegated

Chambers is exactly why you shouldnt employ club legends forever. When it starts going wrong the loyalty card should become irrelevant....unfortunately we don't work like that. It's exactly why we shouldn't even be giving Parkinson and Murty a look in.

I really hope you are wrong. It would be a very bad move and look for a club that claims to be fully inclusive and family oriented.

I don’t disagree. Great legend/servant that she is, it became clear that she and her coaching team had lost the magic touch that had somehow kept us up against the odds and logic in previous seasons. The spirit and fight in the squad that had served us so well in the past seemed to completely disappear, as did the belief amongst players and fans that the team were always more than capable of pulling off shock results against the big girls in the league.

It's odds like this which keep me away from the women's game. I don't think either Celtic or Rangers would get odds like that for an away game in the Scottish Premiership - and that's the archetypal unbalanced league in the men's game.

Now it has happened, I just hope the team takes it’s place in the Women’s Champ next season and the rumours of funding cuts/closing down aren’t true. Just like our other senior side, the team needs a complete rebuild/overhaul…with a new management structure in place.

Agree - leaves top scorer on bench in a must win game and picks a player with no minutes in her since Sept, and breaks down.

Team was easily good enough to stay up, coaching and tactics have been abysmal this season
