A lot of the concern is being generated by the lack of clear communication.

It's possible that there are good reasons why nothing seems to be happening. Maybe there negotiations with the EFL and some signings depend on that. Maybe Selles has a work permit issue taking a while to sort out. Maybe there is a possible takeover in the works. Maybe the club wants to comment, but is restricted by some legal process.

Or maybe there's a lack of leadership and direction coming from the top, and nobody in the club currently has authority to say anything.

Without some honest and clear communication from the club we just don't know, and so end up in a constant slightly paranoid guessing game. We need someone to come out and give an update. A proper update - not something which feels like computer generated PR - even if it is just to say that the club is aware of concerns, cannot currently comment, but will explain it all soon. The current silence is worse than "no comment", because it gives us no idea if the club is even functioning properly or not.

Agreed, surely no other club has ever done this? The fans are totally in the dark

Theroyalbox Has this supporters group, or STAR actually done anything yet?

Think you're being a bit harsh. Got a coordinated campaign off the ground, got media attention even if mostly local, got political involvement from our council and one of our MPs. It's a long game; not a one off noisy protest.

Possibly am, but surely as a short term target, they should have been targeting a response from the club. One communication from the club could solve all problems!!

Not even all the might of the BBC (even if it is Tim) can get a squeak out of the club so what chance do a bunch of fans working in their spare time have?

However, an owner cannot be to blame for having shit employees.

Bizzare stance.

Not really.

If an owner puts faith and money in people who have responded with mediocrity, disloyalty, greed and BS.?

But that’s him picking shit staff who have then picked further shit staff.

Buck stops with him.

In fairness, it goes without saying for any owner, picking staff can be difficult and you're always prone to wrong decisions being made. Everyone is better than sliced bread according to people's CV's and they come in and are about as useful as a chocolate fireguard.

Point taken though, when you've made so many poor decisions as consistently as the club has done, someone (Dai) has to take a look in the mirror and wonder what can be done differently.

Bracknell's MP (Tory) now having a word with the sports minister

The "possible votes in it for you" angle is working with some.

The man is about as much use as a chocolate teapot when it comes to football matters, ask Bracknell Town. All talk and no action.

Don't think I've ever seen a physical copy of "Reading Today," but this is their front cover.

RFC is a private entity.

MPs can only bring greater publicity/focus on events but clearly cannot directly intervene.

It’s just noise.

Far left Socialist MPs are the masters of shameless opportunistic ‘association with causes’ to gain votes.

Perhaps we need a few of them on board…

As long as they don’t actually generate more votes….

So he’s only to blame for half of the problems??

The bottom line is; he either pumps more money in, or sells now and loses millions or abandons ship entirely… and the Club continues to meander off a cliff and ultimately ends up in administration….

Let’s hope it’s one of the first two, and fast otherwise this season could be worse than last and the repercussions will be far greater for far longer…

NathStPaul Yeah. The supporter groups have really jumped the gun.

I'm not convinced. The positive narrative in May was that Dai had learnt his mistakes, Bowen's involvement meant a clearer strategy and we could bounce back. We were also led to believe Cat 1 academy was returning.

Since then, we have had new charges added, meaning new mistakes not just related to 2017-2019 spending. We've had staff unpaid. We've had the Wilder fiasco. The club have said very little. Maybe they wanted to wait until they could share loads of good news. New manager, restrictions lifted, a couple of signings. If so, they're idiots. When bad news is being reported through leaks and rumours you lose control of the narrative so waiting until it's all sorted will only heighten rumour and discontent.

I'm confused.

On the one hand, I'm hearing that the aim is to get an owner in who will run the club sustainably...

On the other hand, people want new signings and to challenge for honours...

Which is it?

Given where the club is at and the finances in the EFL, wanting both seems like cakeism...

I have some deep concerns about this "Sell before we Dai" movement or rather what it might become.

If it generates too much negativity for Dai Yongge he might feel it's best to wipe his hands of the club and sell the assets to save face back in China - the fact the stadium and training ground are seperate companies may be part of this plan.

Some idiots just like to protest, they jump from Blacklivesmatter, Insulate Britain and Stop Oil because they want a confrontation with authorities and not so much because they care about the subject matter. No doubt we have some of these idiots in our midst. They need to be controlled - No pitch invasions which could lead to points deductions, no targeting club employees and don't drive the owner to take desperate measures.

Any new owner isn't necessarily going to be any better

I think the issue is the club management rather than club ownership, If a competent CEO was running the show with the power to fire managers or manage the finances then we wouldn't be in this mess, probably not even in League 1. That's what we need, A Nigel Howe figure to steady the ship and ensure funds come over in good time with the knowledge of what the impact is of this not happening - I doubt our current CEO even knew we'd get a points deduction or that HMRC could wind the club up.
