F-T 1-2
The sending off really changed the course of the match. Royals played ok and fought back well after going behind.
Noel Hunt received a red card at the end of the match after entering the field of play and confronting the ref.

Early sending off in last 2 home games isn’t it?

Anyone stand out? How did Holmes go?

Can only go on the few comments on Twitter from people who were there but apparently Holmes didn't stand out but improved after the sending off following a switch to a back 3. Someone mentioned he looked totally devoid of any confidence whatsoever, which I can imagine being the case.

Big few months ahead for him, if he can get his confidence back he could still be an asset and/or get a decent loan/transfer in Jan. If not, then could end up one of those careers that drifts off a bit.

Management team should be working with him hard to get back that confidence team because even if he doesn’t have a future here (and he should not be written off) he's a potentially saleable asset when finances are tight.

If there isn't a way back here, he needs to choose his next club carefully. If he can go somewhere settled, even at a low level, I expect he'll be back in the Championship in a couple of seasons. If he goes somewhere troubled and can't get his confidence back then yeah, he could be in a lot of trouble.

Couple of bits on Twitter but nothing especially enlightening (yeah no suprise obvs)

Sam Paul seems to be having a good season. Maybe the next one in the first team mix

Interesting to see Wareham on the bench, expecting him in tbe squad on Saturday

I went but would doubt Wareham will make the first team squad yet. I think he was held back to give the other Clark (not Jamari) a run up front but though he works hard not a striker for me. The two full backs are very good but both short in stature. Paul had an excellent game & Ryan gives a lot of effort but perhaps with too much enthusiasm sometimes. Generally the under 21's are doing well but the line up is obviously going to change often to give players time or depending on first team requirements. Holmes worked well with Strickland, who is always reliable, but I agree that he played better when changed to a back three after the sending off. It was actually a second yellow but one of the opposition could have gone as well for striking out as his reaction. Suspect that was what Noel was complaining about.

Interesting* that most of the new u21 squad numbers dished out are in the 50s.

Wareham is #19.

Next up for the U 21’s is a home PL 2 match versus Leeds Utd at the SCL stadium tomorrow evening Friday 22nd KO 7pm. It should be a good test for the young Royals as Leeds have an identical PL 2 record this season of P 4 points 9
