Stranded Also confirmed that RBC have a covenant on the land where there stadium is, meaning it can only ever be used for a stadium. An application can be made to change it but it would be opposed by the council.

Whilst this is certainly a whole lot better than nothing, displaying my usual cynical attitude towards politicians, what prevents those in power at the time being persuaded/encouraged not to oppose plans, particularly if there is substantial planning gain offered?

So has everyone given up on this now as Reading actually won a game last month or are things still happening and being planned but no-one's telling anyone about them for fear of abuse from those armchair "can't be arsed" fans that don't like whatever idea it is?

So unless we import a few thousand of our French friends we could be f*cked then!

Not completely on topic but as they are backing all this, haven't STAR got a meeting with the club coming up round about now?

They've issued a statement (probably not worth reading though):

I'm interested in how these planks think the EFL can hold a private individual (foreign national) to account for anything.

Weird. Not heard from them for a while. Assume they must be taking action/keeping the pressure up behind the scenes.

Impressive points per game ratio of infinity, even West Brom could only manage three points per game against us.

Yes shouldn't be showing the total Reading playing record since 20/21 rather than a load of 0s?

Just to point out that as clearly month to month RFC makes a loss, and isnt cash generative, which is why we keep failing to meet the EFL rules, it means that every month Dai continues to "invest" in the club because its still a black hole of money to him.

I have to say that while the owners should be the ones brought to account rather than the club, just what else can the FA/PL/FL do if the owner is out of UK jurisdiction and can't be brought to account in a court somewhere? And what if the problems are actually being caused by policies of another country's government - should clubs and owners be being penalised at all? Perhaps there are legal arguments that need to be had on that point.

What legal arguments? We're not breaking any laws. We're just breaking the rules of a football competition.

I know sports governing bodies like to take themselves too seriously and refer to the rules of the games as "laws", the reality is, we are a football club that isn't playing by the rules of the league we are in. Why would that interest a court?

Why would the other teams in the league agree to let one of the other teams off playing by the same rules because they got a dodgy owner and tried to cheat the rules by selling their stadium and training ground to themselves and then ran out of ways to cheat the rules.

The level of self-delusion from Reading fans is quite high. People still seem to think we are the wronged party here.

We did financial doping, still didnt get promoted, continue to break rules on a monthly basis and people still think the world owes us leniency.

What the actual oxf*rd.

I like how they've got "for immediate release" on there as if they have an external PR department

we're now getting punished for our owner's financial negligence rather than trying to gain a competitive advantage through rule breaking so blaming the fans for it is missing the point I would say.

Clubs that sign players whose wages they can't afford to pay each month are gaining a competitive advantage.
