rabidbee I understand they have internet even in NZ.

Let's oxf*rd hope not.

Belt up Orion!

Someone said on Twitter that you’re a sad twat! Should that be filed under rumours?

I'm just having a laugh now. Seems to have wound you up as well, but we'll need someone twitter to confirm.

Clyde1998
Mid Sussex Royal
WestYorksRoyal It still feels like Chiron have more leverage due to the debt and charges. They may have found something in DD that they have tried to amend the price for.

Dellor is reliable enough, but his contacts will be Howe and others at the club. Feels to me like they are putting out rumours of other buyers and trying to apply pressure to Chiron to accept whatever they have found in DD without amending the price.

Presumably if Dai walks from this deal, he'll also need a strategy to protect the value of his asset to convince other buyers, meaning putting in necessary funding to keep Selles and the team together. Does anyone seriously believe he has a plan for that?

Have to wait and see how it plays out, like Stranded said earlier I'm too tired of worrying about things beyond out control.

Dellor is apparently on holiday so this is likely third hand at best. 2 and 2 being put together due to exclusivity ending.

If the buyer does pull out or Dai rejects, we're done for. Loans called in (worst case scenario) but likely more unpaid wages will mean starting next season with more points deductions.

Would the loans being called in (by Chiron) and the club defaulting not lead to them taking control of the club though?

I would suspect it's not quite that simple, or they could offer to buy the club for £1, and if Dai refused, they'd get the club for free.

Presumably they could seize the and force the sale of the assets used as security for the loans? So not the club, but the physical facilities.

It would be a rather odd negotiating position from Chiron to intentionally drag their feet over some minor details during this crucial off-season period just to save a few £m on the purchase price.

Given the current state we are in if they don't get the next 8 weeks right then next season will be a write-off before it's even started and push their plans back by 12 months - either they have really poor judgement, something really bad has come up in due diligence, or they aren't viable, either way big red flag

Yeah, even in Taranaki but I will attempt to ignore all things Reading.

Relax Blyth Spartan...Internet and wifi is working fine here in New Plymouth (Taranaki).

Or the article is slightly off the mark and just a piece of speculation used to fill a gap with nowt else going on.

This may be bad news (usually is with us) or it may be nothing - until we get actual confirmation of a sale/deal fall through then take everything with a pinch of salt.

Greatwesternline Not sure where to put this but kiss bye bye to the Football Regulator for quite a while, now that the election has been called.

The Bill to bring it in gets scrapped. Would have to start again from scratch post election, competing with every other priority of new government.

Confirmed the bill is not part of the final wash up session before parliament ends.

With a likely change of government I guess this all starts again....

The exclusivity period has been extended.
Looks like the rumour that one of the investors dropped out may be correct.

The fact we've extended exclusivity rather than opened back up with the many (lol) other interested parties is surely a positive sign that the deal has hit a set back, not fallen apart.

Guessing we'll get a club statement this week on the matter which doesn't tell us anything we don't know.

See Anthony Smith has also stuck his neck out again after the Gymshark debacle. No credibility left.

From my knowledge of mergers and acquisitions in other sectors having exclusivity extended is a good rather than a bad sign ... it just means that finalising the deal is taking a bit longer than expected.

Not sure losing category 1 status can be pinned on any new owner. Given the amount of people behind the scenes made redundant or resigned because they haven't been paid by Dai I'd assumed it would be lost again this summer anyway.

Regurgitating rumours that an investor has pulled out, and that the incoming owners plan cuts which will see us lose our Cat 1 academy.

Keeping Cat 1 status in L1 is insane.

Ah ok, stuff that may or may not be true then but realistically can't be corroborated.

It's certainly not viable for a club our size in League One, if the new owner chooses to keep Cat 1 that would certainly be ambitious, hopefully not foolhardy.

It can only be a short term thing. A lot of Championship clubs say they can't afford Category One status. I can't imagine we'll remain Category One come the next review if we're still in League One.
