The only thing I have read recently that gives me a bit more hope is this article in the Chronicle. STAR have not said much about their meetings with NH for a while now, so maybe they know more about what’s happening than they have been letting on. Well that’s what I am hoping.

On Friday evening on BBCRB Tim Dellor explained it might drag on a lot longer. Firstly the rumour is that the EFL need some convincing that this consortium have the money to run the club and a decent 2 year plan.....
Also,following on from recent activity on Companies House, albeit the club accounts remain unpublished, there was some 'tidying' as the Cessation of Reading Asia Holdings Limited it was confirmed.
So we may have an update soon but the sale still seems way off.

What reasons for not knowing his punishment? Has he been let off or are the FL/FA still deliberating?

Looking on the FA website, I found his previous charge outcome. He was charged on the 6th October 2020 and the hearing was on 21st December (76 days later). I don't know if this reflects a typical timeline, as he admitted to the charge but requested a hearing to "advance mitigation", but a similar time scale would suggest any final decision would come at some point in August given he was charged on 31st May.

I'm guessing it could take longer too, depending on whether he accepts or challenges the charges, how complex the case is, etc.

That’s not true
Unless the EFL have a specific rule, they can be qualified. Not a great place to be for any company, though
