Technically could be construed as a player..... But I watched the Daley Thompson Documentary last night. Worth a watch, I forgot just what a great athlete he was....

And a tough upbringing too. And what sacrifices were made, with very little to gain, in that era of amateur sports.

cheeky shot of him in Pelada training gear.

Love Daley Thompson. Wish he'd actually played a first team game for us.

Played 2 friendly games in 1994(?) preseason I think. 1 at home to Real Sociedad and the other away at Leatherhead, which I think he might have scored in.

Not sure if it's been noted already, but Ejaria is a trialist at Oxford. Scored and set up goals the other night.

So potentially see him back in the Champ. Bang on Oxfords style of acquisition too. Free, proven at the level.

Good for him. Hope he's sorted himself out and he can move on to a bigger clubs than Oxford.

Bobby Convey diagnosed with colon cancer.

bconvey Colon cancer is a silent killer. Finally getting to go home this morning and recover. It's been a long five weeks finding out in a random colonoscopy that I had 60 precancerous polyps in my colon. Scary stuff. My only
option was to remove my large intestines and lymph nodes. It's one of the most painful things I have ever done. Doctor said if I came at normal screening time of 45 l would have had cancer all over my body. Such a wild ride and exhausting. Thank you for your love and support Danella Baldwin and everyone else who has reached out. God is good.... Finally going home!! Everyone make sure to get
those screening younger as I got lucky.

Good luck Bobby.

Very worrying, love Bobby. Hopefully the surgery has been a good preventative measure and he's on the road to recovery.

Link is for a Second Captains podcast episode with Eamon Dunphy about all sorts. But for a few minutes towards the start Eamon talks about Reading and Robin Friday. It's nice to hear from a team member - makes Friday seem more real than mythological, for those like me who didn't know him in his heyday.

From about the 5 minute mark just for a few minutes.

And a massive picture on his wall at home of him celebrating with the players after scoring in the 3-1 home win over Crewe in the final game of 75/76 promotion season too. Certainly someone who we should hear more from over his football career.

His book ‘Only a Game?’ Is well worth reading. Probably the first of it’s kind.

Working on a building site, as in, property developer?

Nothing much to see here, spending some of his millions ‘building’ his ‘portfolio’

Or Just physical hard graft? something that would be quite alien to a majority on here.

Surprising amount of needle in that!

Azeez looked really good, nice calm finish. Kanu grew into it very well, another one o lf the Academy production line of CBs! Camara didn't see a lot of the ball but seemed quick and direct when he did.

Happy with that. Lots of options in midfield, few in attack. Fullbacks is a weak spot currently.
