blythspartanBrogue They have 4 hours to fill on a Saturday from 2pm till 6, For a football match that lasts 90 minutes. What the fcuk else are they supposed to talk about. Especially when we play Saturday Tuesday Saturday Tuesday it’s all been discussed to death 3 days before. Then you have to fill for another few hours again. You think they do a pretty good job personally. I enjoy listening to the games I can’t get to.
I don’t mind the chatter/banter before and after the game and my 90 year old mum loves Tim. I am a bit of a purist when it comes to football commentary having grown up listening to the radio in the early 70s. I loved John Motson and David Coleman amongst others. Tbh, I don’t normally listen to BBCRB until I am driving home in my car. However, I thought the commentators who covered the Cardiff friendly were much better.

Well almost every single time we've had commentary from a different club, it's far superior.
Go to the games then if you don’t want to listen in

Orion1871Armadillo Roadkill The BBCRB team have given me hours of entertainment over many years. I'm fine with the diversions - it's just chat, and it's always felt to me like they are familiar people, with their quirks and mannerisms. If you really cannot bear a lighthearted discussion of the sandwiches they're given or their journeys to the stadium I guess you can switch off, I've always enjoyed it.
I really feel much of the resentment of Dellor is because he's obviously from as pretty affluent background. Whilst I get that those of us from more average backgrounds would never get the same chances of getting that type of job, it's pretty universal in all walks of life, so to focus on it just around football commentary is just making life difficult for yourself.
And Adie is often asking questions to get conversation going, that's kind of his role, as a catalyst. Don't imagine it's because he doesn't know. (But I agree the LEEDS LEEDS LEEDS thing is obviously annoying...)
This.
Also can't remember them ever saying Selles doesn't rate Kelvin at all. Just that they think Selles doesn't see Kelvin as a centre forward in his system, which the evidence suggests is true. People who don't like them and just want a bunch of boring automatons on commentary have turned that into "Selles doesn't rate Kelvin".
