Sutekh Medical at the Lions today. Usual sod all info on the fee involved but presume it's for the £750k quoted somewhere above.

Not the best of ways for a new set of owners to start out. Still he's a typical winger and not consistent plus he's only played 30 mins of the season so far and would suggest Reading haven't missed him in those games. Will be interesting to see if he's good enough to play at a higher level or whether he just disappears with the other also rans of that division.

Least the money will hopefully be enough to find wages for a loan replacement for a season though (the Harvey Blair link makes even more sense now).

Let's hope the club can get some more forward options in the next couple of weeks (and perhaps the deal has only been agreed now as something has been lined up).

I am hoping that it’s a sign that the takeover has happened now, but just not officially announced yet. If this is the first sign of Couhig and co running the club sustainably I am all for it.

Still can`t understand why he was selected on Saturday if they knew he was off this week, it also explains why he allegedly did his own lap of honour after the game.

Azeez has been a decent servant for us, it's a shame to lose him as he's a very good player for this division and even more annoying to see him go to a club like Millwall. Think he could have gone to a slightly bigger club like a Blackburn, Stoke etc.

I think this move could be an encouraging sign that the club are confident of the takeover happening imminently as we're pretty light on first team players.

Funny that us selling one of our best players is a sign that the takeover is complete, rather than an indication that it's collapsed and we need to sell to balance the books. Amazing what a bit of positivity can do.

Think we'd have been relegated without Azeez's purple patch last season, but he's had one good half season with us, so not the end of the world. A more likeable Nick Blackman.

We're worryingly short of forwards already, so losing Azeez would be a big blow. I'd be much more comfortable if a midfielder were to go as we have oodles of quality there in Wing, Craig, Savage, Elliott, Knibbs plus Senga, Sackey and Rushesha.

Our youth forwards like Wareham, Ahmed, Tuma and Akande look further from ready in comparison.

But at the same time we must start running the club sustainably and selling our assets at a premium regularly to fund the club.

If the takeover is done and we have signings lined up, then I guess that's the best we can do. If not, I fear trouble ahead once a couple of injuries set in.

Am i right in thinking that he's probably still on a higher wage than others in the team given that he will have signed his previous deal while still in Champ? So might be another reason to sell in order to free up the wage bill a bit? £750k would seem very cheap though still.

I did think it might be a bad sign, but with Couhig being at the game last night I hope not.

This is what clubs do and the fact we haven't is partly why we are where we are, so the deal makes sense for all parties.

We get a fee for a player who, barring promotion, would have walked next summer for free - Azeez gets to test himself at Champ level and will have a 2 or 3 year deal now instead of the 1 year with us - he'll see that as important given he has a new baby. Millwall get a decent player that improves their squad.

With luck and assuming we get full takeover confirmation asap, we can bring in either a free agent or loan player to replace him else we put faith in Camara's raw talent and that he will improve with regular game time.

100% agree with this. Good luck to him, hope he does well, but he's not indispensable.

Hopefully.
I am not convinced Camara is ready to play on the right, seems to have been more effective on the left but Kelvin E. isn't moving after his great start.
Saturday will be quite a test for the kids if we get any more injuries this week

Strongly suspect this is an indication we will be able to sign players shortly. I don’t think we’d let him go otherwise at this stage

Best of luck to him. Seems a good lad and made a massive contribution to us staying up last year

Sad to see him go as he had a great second half of last season, and is an academy product who is very likeable.

However, good players like him will be leaving us until we get into a higher division and become more competitive, so to get a fee instead of losing him on a free is what we should be looking to do.

All the best to him and if he carries on like he has done, he should have a decent career.

We can stick knibbs out on the right for a while. I liked savage Elliott and wing in CM, WiFi on the left, knibbs on the right (when he’s back from injury that is). Looks like he's only going to miss the Wrexham and Charlton games, (if its the 3 week lay off as expected) then we haven't got a game because of the international break - we're back on 14th September.

If the sign-off, from the odious leech that is Die Young, has not been done. Do we assume that he or his toady lackey Pang has agreed to the sale of Azeez?

Makes you wonder - Dai always gambling or trying to get one over on people.

If Couhig hasn't sanctioned this and its just Dai/Pang trying to squeeze some extra cash into their pockets then I would fear that the takeover will fall through - or at least extend while they argue the toss about a reduced price.

Crazy coz I was reliably informed in the summer we turned down a £1.5 deal for Azeez

I don't think Couhig is likely to have his pants pulled down by Dai Yongge. If this has been a possibility all summer, I'm sure Couhig would have known that it could have happened at any time and wouldn't have based his offer upon it.

I don't think (and I hope I'm not wrong) that this deal is likely to put the takeover at risk of collapse.

Doesn't the player have a say in their own transfer - if Dai is trying to do something underhand could Azeez refuse to go (but then agree with Cohig that he can leave after the takeover completes)? I thought in January some players made it clear they wouldn't leave, so there is precedent for doing this kind of thing.

Of course they can, they have a fixed term contract of employment, that can't be waived without both parties' agreement. So if a player is happy where he is and on the deal he is on, then he can stay until it is completed.

Couhig is a vastly experienced lawyer.
You’d think he has all the angles covered.
