rabidbee Another slightly more topical pub quiz answer for you, despite being massive, China is all in the same timezone (Beijing's). Depending where you are in China, you can be anything up to one hour behind or three hours ahead of local solar time.

St PauliBrogue Just an fyi. This karbota chap the resident racist. Who hasn’t been managed by the moderation team. Pretty much the only mod we have is now actively engaging with him ^ forbury lion in case you didn’t know is a mod.
Well Graham the site founder and owner is now running a poll for a new mod.
https://hobnob.royals.org/forum/viewtop ... 8&t=191590
Part of my manifesto is to sort this karbota out, once and for all. And I’m the only person who is saying they will. So vote for me on the above link and let’s get this racist off our board once and for all.
Seriously I’m not joking, I’ll sort this out sharpish. Make sure dd is kept in check and sort Nath St Paul’s aggressive posting out.
We haven’t had a new mod in probably 10 years now it’s your only chance to get the right person in who will actually do something. Or you can have another 10 years of the team board being ruined by a select few.
A vote for brogue is a vote for change.
I would also like to say vote Brogue for mod.
He is the only man who can beat John Madejski’s Wallet. JMW needs to be stopped because he is virulently anti rotary washing line. I repeat he hates rotary washing lines and the people who own and use them.

We want the club to tell us something, *club release statement* that hasn`t told us anything.

rabidbee I casually thought that there were 24, but all of the places offset by fractions of an hour (Iran +3:30, Nepal +5:45) means there are shitloads. Here’s a real pub quiz answer for you. Kiribati lies in all four hemispheres, and at +14 hours, parts of it are a full 26 hours ahead of other places on the same longitude.
No idea if Dai has been holed up there, though.

morganb https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2024/august/30/deadline-day-statement/Reading Football Club would like to provide an update on the proposed takeover of the club.
Over several months the owner and potential purchaser, alongside the EFL, have been working extensively on ensuring the completion of the deal – with the prospective owner cleared by the governing body to take over the club.
All parties had hoped to have the takeover completed ahead of the transfer window deadline this evening, however the complexities of the deal have prevented this from happening.
The takeover has involved the transfer of multiple properties, both physical and intellectual. In addition to these assets in question, the stakeholders involved are located across 14 time zones worldwide, with multiple local laws and legislation needing to be abided by.
In regards to potential signings this window, discussions remain ongoing, with staff members at the club working tirelessly to strengthen the playing squad before this evening’s 11pm deadline.

WestYorksRoyal Not the statement we all wanted, but still a good one. Sounds like Couhig remains committed, EFL approval is a big deal, and main hold up seems to be admin and process.

Orion1871 Also.
Dai has cited Chinese banks and laws as excuses for not performing his duties as an owner so many times now that, even if he's telling the truth, it's difficult to believe him.
This is the 2020s, not the 1820s. Timezones are not an adequate excuse with modern communication technology.

That is true, but when you factor in two sets of lawyers and translators, plus the EFL and regulatory bodies on top of the timezone, it's hard to believe it's only taken 5 months to get this far.

WestYorksRoyal I hope all this work is helping take us back to a simple structure. Couhig owns the club, and the club owns everything. Bearwood, SCL all under one structure. Perhaps the Thais are involved and the hotel and car park are involved too. I've lost track of who owns what, it would be great if it's being sorted.
