Hemenbruff Royal Kelvin Ebettybettyhom did oxf*rd all when he was on the pitch so getting sent off made little difference. The rest put in a shift so can’t fault them for not trying.

Thought it should have been Garcia getting sent off, perhaps the club might plead mistaken identity. However they've not done that before #garethdavies

We are going alright given the situation, but the away form I personally think is because of the way we play. Other teams in this division just rush you, run at 100 mph the whole time, whereas we do like to Fanny around at the back and general play is quite slow at times.

A few of the players are under performing badly as well, Wing, Smith in particular, and I don’t really understand Wings change of position as he isn’t running games from the back as I’m guessing is meant to be the thinking behind the switch. WiFi is good at times, but makes wrong decisions a lot of the time.

If we can stay up and get a new owner, that’s the only gauge of success this season as far as I’m concerned.

Surely the only realistic aim for this season is survival and atm it looks like we should be OK unless we get another points deduction ... which is increasingly becoming a possibility.

morganb I don't know the exact rules (and I haven't quoted you) but Trossard was sent off in the Prem recently then Arsenal played in the Carabao Cup in midweek (different competition) where the red counted so he could then play again the following weekend

Yeah I'm not sure then, trying to find the rules but it's surprisingly more difficult than I thought.

This is as I understand it.

If you receive a red card in any competition the suspension is served in the next game in any competition, unless it’s an EFL Trophy game.

The EFL Trophy is stand alone from all other competitions.

So you think Kelvin can play against Cheltenham, but not Crawley then?

According to the FA suspensions for receiving a red card in a league game are applied across both league AND cup games. Suspensions for a red card received in an EFL Trophy game though are served only in the EFL Trophy competition unless the FA determine otherwise.

A suspension shall commence immediately unless the club have submitted an appeal based on mistaken identity or wrongful dismissal.

Ok, so he's suspended for the Trophy, but if he'd been sent off against Cheltenham rather than Rotherham, he'd still be available for Crawley anyway, as he'd serve the suspension in the next Trophy game.

And you can't dispute a red from a second yellow, there's obviously no case of mistaken identity. Just a twat of a ref.

Yet the rules still require us to field X number of first teamers/players involved in the previous league game?

I'm sure you're correct but it is completely illogical.

Brogue Playing a cm at rb (21) a 16 year old at left back, mm (22) and tb (19)at cb? It’s hardly surprising we concede so many goals.

Not according to Ady Williams it's not! He also expects them to be able to compete physically with some of the much older, bigger and stronger brutes playing against them.

They mostly can tbh. Garcia has stood up to Yaks ffs. That's insane.

But they will make mistakes.

You are right that you can’t appeal yellow cards.
However if a card is clearly shown to the wrong player it would be cancelled. Officials review matches and the ref can tell the league that the card was an error.
What I’m not sure of is whether a card can be ‘reassigned’ to the correct player after the event. Would make sense if it were possible.
I have no idea whether mistaken identity applies in this case or it’s just a question of people disagreeing with the ref.

Dunno about reassigning to the right player, but it doesn't matter in this case because it wasn't mistaken identity.

Kelvin steamed in and shoved their No 2 over, to defend Garcia. And the 2 obviously went down like he'd been punched in the face.

Firstly I am no expert but page 9 of the FAs Essential information for players appears to say the opposite. It says that a suspension that results from any other first team competition cannot be served in the EFL Trophy.

I tried attaching a link but it keeps attaching the whole file, so please take a look to see on website if I am interpreting this right

The FA's "essential information for players" website states that "Suspensions following a Red Card are applied across both league and cup competitions". However there is a small footnote that I missed previously that says EFL Trophy games don't count, therefore Kelvin will be suspended for the Crawley debacle on October 19 and is at liberty to perform at Cheltenham should the manager so desire. Unless the club plead mistaken identity or claim wrongful dismissal of course.

No suprise Kelv got the yellow. Twat number 2s pathetic dive alongside the dickhead behaviour of their players ensured that

I’ve no huge issue with him standing up for his 16 year old teammate tbh and agree Garcia would have for the yellow otherwise

Didn’t watch the game but looked a bit unlucky with the chance at the end on the highlights. Also noticed Knibbs gets a shove over right at the end - maybe he should have rolled around crying and who knows

The trouble is that Knibbs and some of the others do roll around crying quite a lot (see Knibbs earlier in the game) .
Smith this season has spent a lot of time lying on the ground (admittedly justified now and again) and referees talk to each other so word gets around as to who are the divers.

As for Kelvin it was just stupid and he took one for Garcia who otherwise would have been the one sent off as he was already on a yellow.

Nothing changes-so many professional players are just thick.

Coming back to the game yesterday , we discussed on here last week about how our full-backs fail to block crosses and once again it happened with Craig allowing their player to cross.
With players asked to play out of position it seems churlish to criticise and we just have to stay calm but , despite what others have posted in recent weeks , there is very little to get excited about and we fans just have to bite the bullet and hope for better times ahead.....................one day.

To be fair to Kelvin, if I'd seen a full grown man starting on a 16 year old because they were in a tangle after a fair challenge, I'd have steamed in and shoved him away too.

Yes, don’t think any of us would be happy if he just stood and watched

I don’t think what he did justified a yellow personally but Garcia did. So can’t really complain. I’m not sure it was ‘stupid’ but sounds like his first yellow certainly was
