Sutekh A visit from Fleetwood it is then.

Not the most exciting draw, but certainly a very winnable game (especially at home). The prize money for getting through will no doubt be important for us.

And what should be a guarantee Saturday, 3pm game. Can't see any tv channel wanting to bother with it.

79-1, surely.

MK might even have more home fans for that one than we will for Fleetwood.

Fleetwood at home is alright.

Losing replays is a bit sad.

Yes, much prefer winning them.

Isn't this the one where the FA and PL agreed to scrap them but the FL never said anything to its members until the FA announced it? Personally it's ******* ludicrous that the FA agreed to this just because about 3% of the clubs that enter the competition don't want them. That's the same 3% that carry massively bloated and expensive squads and academies that apparently "can't cope" with the possibilty of an additional cup fixture

Seem to remember Liverpool having to "cope" (to great effect too) a couple of years ago when using their full squad and academy to the maximum to play in the league cup at Villa while their first team was forced into playing FIFA's stupid world club final tournament thing on the other side of the world.

Of course if the FA upped the prize money for the later rounds you'd probably find that same 3% more than happy to accommodate replays

Good old FA, standing up for the small clubs of the game again.

Anyway, echoes of last year, I predict a narrow home win before being embarrassing and losing at York.

Anyone know if extra time will be played in the FA Cup from now on or has that been dumped too and it's straight to penalties?

So guaranteed £15k and an additional £50k if we win.

That'd keep us running for what... an extra three or four days mimimum.

Win in the second round and that's another £80k guaranteed.

It's not game changing, but it is very significant at this point. As long as we're fairly comfortably mid-table, we should be prioritising the cup for increased revenue imo.

I know we're 17th but we're 5 points clear with a game or two in hand on half the division and a home win against relegation threatened Crawley could put us as high as 9th.

Sad !!! I was distraught on 31st January 1968 when Man City beat us 7-0 at Elm Park before a crowd of 25,969. :D

Pleased to say that that match was before my time. Although I went to my first home game with my dad in 1969. Port Vale or Mansfield.

Yes would need to see Dirks working there. Are we including Dons vs MK?

Re the fans - don't they still boycott it?

Should have just said that the lower league club goes through in the event of a draw. That'd have made things much better for the smaller clubs.
