All I will say is if the club commit to a wall of silence, Couhig can put out his narrative unchallenged. Everything he said is very believable and I trust his word more than the club. He is brash and at times unlikeable, but I don't think he's a liar.

I still think smart money is that he ends up as owner, but no idea how long it takes and how much carnage occurs first. Probably enough time to sell Bindon and then piss that money away limping on for the rest of the season.

Person who appears to have had a gambling issue, known for publicly making stuff up that sounded good (see statements about all our troubles being over, agreeing a financial plan we knew we couldn’t meet etc) in being a bit leaky, seems as nailed on as Dai being someone unlikely to repay a loan.


Got to laugh at the ITKs who came out claiming Couhig never had any money and it was all his fault. Sounds even stupider now than it did then.

I’m having trouble believing the club will ever be sold so long as the current owner is involved.

It’s difficult to know what to believe. Both sides will paint a picture to make the other side look bad. It’s a shame that all parties can’t work together for the good of the club’s employees and fans.

Surely, if there’s a serious buyer in place they’d pay off Couhig’s £1m in legal fees, but it might be more complex than that. I shall enjoy supporting the club for as long as possible, but a Phoenix club is edging closer.

There's got to be at least someone who knew how bad things were and didn’t blow a whistle.

Probably need to remember that there is a complex web of companies involved here, most of which are not the responsibility of RFC employees. The full extent of Dai’s financial dealings may well not be visible to the RFC FD, who is fairly new anyway.

Pang would automatically go - but others "in power" who wouldn't automatically have gone may have muddied the waters - assuming this is all true.

Also interesting that Couhig mentioned setting up companies in BVI to alleviate the issues with Haitong. This suggests that they found a way to navigate that problem, but who knows what that could be.

Haitong by default are most likely going to own the stadium following any sale. Any new owner will have to come to an arrangement to either purchase the stadium with a mortgage or enter into a long term rental agreement. Haitong are a state owned Chinese bank.
