Brogue
Royals and Racers Attendance 6830

Where did you get that from? James Earnshaw said 8333 with 258 Cambridge

From a mate of mine - i would think your figure is the correct one.

12 points off relegation. If we can have a good December - 5 remaining league games this year. If we can get 10 points from them. That should be a good enough first half of the season to keep us up. A safety net if we lose players and get 10 point deduction because of administration. Or point deductions because of unpaid tax bills/wages.

Enjoyed tonight, but the last 20 mins was a bore fest, just knocking it around and doing nothing, if there was ever a time to boost our GD it was tonight.
When was the last time we scored 4 in a league game? won`t get that many better opportunities than this game.

Actually starting to look forward to games once a match day arrives for the first time in years. Really hope we can get the sale resolved and get a new owner in and the embargo lifted as I feel like we're only a few solid players away from being a real candidate for the playoffs. I fear a few injuries and fatigue after Christmas will affect us, let alone the possibility of a fire sale of players or points deductions.

Really thought Elliott was fantastic tonight. My MOTM. So much ran through him and he is quick too. He and Wing just controlled the centre and Cambridge were totally outplayed. But all the team were excellent tonight.

Lewis Wing.

People often like to say that a player is “dictating the play” or “running the game.” I think this is often an exaggeration. I’ve never seen anyone really do it the way Wing did today. He was so pivotal to everything we did it was unreal.

Sideways passing.

Remember how for years most of us have cried bitter salty tears at the sheer ennui caused by timid, aimless sideways passing? Now when it happens no one gets anxious because we believe and expect it will lead to something. You can literally see opponents getting pulled out of shape to open up opportunities to get it forward. This is no accident. It’s game planning and tactics of a high calibre that is usually only seen at the very top levels. Because the players are young, and because the Academy plays the same way, players transition into the first team seamlessly, and Selles has gradually been able to impose a whole, coherent style. We now have an identity.

Crowd.

Yes it’s cold. Yes it’s expensive. But that was a, frankly, a pathetic turn out. Just based upon what’s going on on the pitch, this has to be the best time to watch Reading in years. Maybe a decade. The word needs to get around.

The kids just keep on getting better with every game!! The one thing that scares me is if we hit a point that Dai might think "Hold on a minute" this team has a crack at promotion here and instead of the club being valued at "this amount" in the Chumpionship its now worth a lot more......hence more staling tactics with the sale. Just a thought.

I think it’s 12 points nowadays for entering administration.

Perhaps some people just don’t want to get too invested in things when they know there’s a chance it’ll all be undone in a month or two when a certain someone fails to sell the club again.

Wing's 2nd was a type of screamer we've seen a few times. Against Carlisle, Fleetwood and now Cambridge we've seen the one where he hits it first time with his instep and it curls into the near post. Clearly a technique he has nailed.

Sadly this. I still think this season will all end in tears. Not relegation, we'll have too many points by January. But key players sold or leaving when contracts expires, Selles gone and a relegation battle to look forward to in 25/26.

Blame Sky + , Reading seem to be on every week, in fact we are on 16 times between now and the end of the season.

January 18, February 1, February 8, February 15, February 22, March 1, March 4, March 8, March 15, March 22, March 29, April 5, April 12, April 18, April 21, and April 26

When was our last 3pm Saturday home game? Early kick offs, midweek games and TV coverage are keeping attendances down.

There will sadly be a lot of this. People have been burnt too many times over the last few years and whilst watching this team is a lot of fun, there will be an overarching view amongst many that until Dai is gone, this is all just a sticky plaster over a gaping wound. As is even being mentioned on this thread, as we move into the top 6 after 17 games and on track for a 80+ point season, people are still looking at the gap to the bottom 4 - firesales in Jan etc.

Money is tight for a lot of people and its Xmas, so why would you "waste money" going to watch the club at this point. If come Feb, we haven't really lost anyone, and are still sitting pretty in or around the top 6, you may well start to see some people come back and absolutely definitely if and when a sale concludes.
