Pepe the Horseman Think people are massively undervaluing Smith tbh. Probably our 2nd most important player behind Bindon imo.

we simply don't have a goal threat without him.

He's in the position with the least depth for sure.

We're not without other goalscorers ...

Knibbs on 8 with 11 last year. Wing got 10 last year.

But with Wing wasted deeper and Big Kelv E not kicking on through injury, it's a worry.

Push Knibbs upfront, get Craig back into midfield, with Wing further forward. Play Abrefa at right back.

I also think Wareham has something about him somewhere, he needs games!

Agreed, less square pegs in round holes.

Hound Multi million pound apparently

It’s a kick in the nuts but again we prob have to take it. We picked him up for free and big profit

We just need to be allowed to sign a replacement (on loan) or we’re really
Going to struggle

Mega shit, but agree with the above.

Would be seen as a decent bit of business if we weren't so reliant on him and had the ability to bring someone else in.

Because of the financials that are well overdue we won't be allowed to sign anyone. Otherwise I'd try and get Meite back on loan.

Maybe Noel can get his boots back on.

If true, thank oxf*rd we only need a few more points to be safe from relegation, barring any points deductions.

I was semi-seriously going to suggest Dean up front and Knibbs/Wareham feeding off knock downs.

I don't get why people say this is a good deal as if we're a normal club. The only time we got close to a sale because Dai was faced by a stark administration or sell choice.

Transfer fee revenue just allows Dai to hang around and the club to remain in purgatory. It won't go on our academy, our facilities or strengthening the playing staff. It just allows the parasite to stay and make us weaker by the day.

If things were normal, this would be great business. But they're not.

Play Kelvin as a central striker, I think he has the pace and power for it.

100% agree on Kelvin E.

I think he's tougher than he at first appears (because he's not a typically wide-shouldered and big framed as Smith) and would not get bullied. He may even get one of those hundred or so free kicks in dangerous areas that somehow eluded Smith.

Without a points deduction we should be able to stay in this league. Play-offs were a bit of a red herring. The money keeps us solvent.

Sooner or later Dai will have to sell, then as long as it's an owner with a vision for the football club and not asset stripping, the renewal can begin.

Shocking decision to sell. We'll have absolutely nothing up front

Sutekh Huddersfield going for it, this'd be about the 3rd striker this window. Hope there's a proviso he can't play on the 8th (not that'd it'd matter much).

All yours now Jayden & WiFi...

It’s not Huddersfield buying him…

Didn't see this one happening at all!! Pretty much puts our play off push to bed that's if it was even there in the first place. Smith is a target man, so i'm guessing the recent hoof ball employed by Hunt will have to change as there is no way in hell that'll work with Wareham or Knibbs up top, and i'm not even sure that Kelvin.E is a target man.

Wing has to be pushed further forward now as we will need that extra spark and creativity for us to score goals!! and let's face it if our defense was ok then it wouldn't be to much of an issue but when we are constantly chasing the game to silly defensive errors losing Smith seems an even bigger head shaker!!!

I want to see what Noel has to say about this. Not his fault, obviously.

If we had a replacement I wouldn’t be overly bothered. He’s a good L1 striker, who we're making a good profit on.

The money from this will keep us afloat for a few more months, making a sale more likely than administration.

I do though wonder how close we are to another penalty for not publishing accounts - is there a point where HMRC can take us over?

Suspect others will also go before the deadline, although at this stage the sale remains far more important than any player (no matter his importance on the pitch).

What’s the betting that referees start giving him a load of pens the minute he moves to Wrexham

It'll happen on his debut or against us. Guaranteed.

To be honest I think administration is the only route out of this mess and to get Dai out.

£2m will only tie us over until the summer and that's if Dai doesn't take a cut for himself.
