Played in the highest scoring Premier League game. (13 I think and equal with another game, but don't know who).

11, not tied

7-4 vs Portsmouth

Also tied for second highest scoring game (6-4 vs spurs, tied with a fair few others, United 9 Arsenal 2 likely the most famous but there's a end of season 5-5 draw as a bunch of players achieved their bonus payments that day)

I stand corrected. Was 13 the highest League Cup game then? 5-7 v Arsenal if I remember correctly. (If so, that is another record we have). Strange, how we usually lose these high scoring games!

Try Duolingo Maths (sadly they call it Math)
It’s not as comprehensive as learning a language but might help in this case

13?

12 is the highest aggregate in a single League Cup game. Reading share with Arsenal and both Dagenham and Brentford who drew 6-6 in August 2014 (Brentford then won 4-2 on penalties so maybe that should be the record).

If you want to stretch it to penalty shoot outs (which woukdn’t work as penalties in shoot outs are not ‘goals’) then the record for those was only set this season with 31 scored in a game.

Forbury Lion Don't we hold the record for the team which has been knocked out of the FA cup more times than anyone else on account of never winning it, never missing a season, still existing and being around from 1871? - Would happily trade that record in for winning the damn thing!

Ady Williams wearing every number 1-11 might be unique, but I doubt it.

Most Pairs of Pants thrown on the pitch during a football match

Guinness World Record for the highest abseil from a helicopter when the Army/RAF delivered the match ball from a Sea King at the Madejski stadium

Possibly most helicopters on the pitch before kick off (two - a gazelle and a lynx)

In the Guinness book of records is it?

Think we should go for a record number of fortune cookies thrown during a sporting event next.
or Tennis Balls?

Non submission of year end accounts.

I thought Steve Death held the record once for the number of games without conceding a goal.

We did go some extraordinary number of minutes played without scoring a corner for a while (about a decade ago now), did we get some kind of record for that?

I imagine Reading FC still hold a few records from the old days before the PA system switched to playing cassettes, CD's and digital.

Not a record but interesting to note that Mohammed Salah has scored more penalties for Liverpool than Reading have had in 11 years.

If we haven't achieved it already, we must be nailed on to set the record for the longest period of time a football league club has been up for sale!

Nope not quite yet. No clue if there is an actual record in this area but Morecambe have been up for sale since the end of 2022 (around 27 months) and have been in the process of being sold for almost a whole year.

We’re missing a trick though as AFAIK we haven’t got a FOR SALE board up on the A34 so any potential purchasers driving buy aren’t being enticed in.
Might email that idea in to Nigel.

Could also put the estate agent videos up on the scoreboard at matches and a nice big for sale sign up on the Mole Road at Bearwood in Sindlesham, where you’re more likely to get more of the “money” passing on a regular basis on it’s way to the Nirvana Spa.

Has a club ever been sold at an auction ? Might not get quite as much cash but cuts out all the exclusivity / due diligence nonsense that is messing things up so far.
Imagine we got bought by a local builder who thought he was bidding on the next lot - Victorian terrace on Liverpool Rd in need of complete modernisation. Guide price £120k.

You sort of end up wishing the club had debts everywhere so that those owed could force the issue through a winding up order, at least we’d not have any more of this interminable dragging out of the saga and we could get on with things.

Many times, if you consider that any club being bought out of administration is effectively an auction, where the administrator will almost always recommend that the highest bidder will get to purchase them.

(Although obviously there are t&cs and complications due to the administration, so it's never quite as simple as that.)

Fortune cookies won't be easy to count, Tennis balls - just freeze the video and count them.
