I know we've been here before (and before that, and before that...) but this one genuinely sounds really positive.

Whilst timelines cannot be guaranteed, the structure of the deal should allow for a quick completion, which would be for the benefit of all concerned.

That's the strongest wording I've seen so far.

James Earnshaw and others on Twitter basically confriming what my 'well placed sauce' told me. This is different to last time - all the key elements have been agreed with all parties (including EFL). Just the normal legal processes and tyre kicking left. Barring any more 'unexpected' developments, will be done next month.

An expedite sale points to a Redwood/Couhig sale, does it not?

They have no idea who the buyer is. Other than highly unlikely to be Couhig given that his legal case is proceeding.

Hendo https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2025/february/24/club-statement-letter-intent/

Reading Football Club can confirm it has committed to a letter of intent with a potential purchaser of the club.

The parties will now enter a period of exclusivity to complete final due diligence and legally complete the transaction. Whilst timelines cannot be guaranteed, the structure of the deal should allow for a quick completion, which would be for the benefit of all concerned.

Whilst we understand our supporters' wish to know the purchaser’s identity, at this stage, confidentiality is preferred to complete at the earliest opportunity.

The club can confirm the agreed sale includes the transfer of Mr Dai’s shareholding in The Reading Football Club Limited, as well as the Select Car Leasing Stadium and Bearwood Park Training Facility.

Further updates will be communicated once appropriate.

Here we go again, another round of the (probably) same old same old.

Believe it’s different this time when I see it.

Letter of intent - its one step prior to a binding agreement.

Smee?

Can someone start a poll @ who the potential owner could be?

100%. Need to show the new owners we're not to be messed with. Hopefully SBWD have also sent them our demands.

I am refusing to allow myself to get excited by this; there have been too many false dawns, too many let downs and disappointments........

Its the hope that kills you.

Why would he call off the legals until the deal is over the line ? The reason for his court case is Dai backing out of an agreement at the last minute.

The phrase ‘agreed sale’ from the club appears a lot stronger than anything they’ve said officially before.

Yes, at last this one looks very positive, but I think we can all agree that if this one falls through we`re dead in the water.
