Royals and Racers Any gems from the Rotherham fans after their injury time defeat. ?

Generally seem more than fair. Appear to be a very depressed bunch more than used to losing and more worried about a threat of another relegation than anything else. Only real gripes from the game were the same as us - the cr@p officials - but that overall they got what they deserved. They’re not overly impressed with Steve Evans and his mastermind tactical decisions either. Seem to think all penalty shouts were penalties and that they should have been 3/4 down by half time. That said, they were fairly mystified by the disallowed goals. One little observation they made, apparently Rotherham have not won a Saturday 3pm away league game since they went to Plymouth in L1 in Feb 2022.

Seems to be a theme to their musings. Unlucky with decisions but you make your own luck. They do seem to be largely pointing the finger in one direction and it's not at the ref.

For years now we've been very fragile in the dying stages of a game. How to run the clock down and stay calm and collected in added on time isn't in our DNA it seems. But it's all the refs fault. Of course it is Mr Evans

Ultimately some dubious refereeing decisions made the difference and cost us getting something from the game but let's not sugar coat it.
We lacked every footballing quality under the sun all over the pitch today and didn't really deserve any more than what we got. The end

The referees haven?t cost us all season

Time for the UB40 to be delivered! The way that Evan?s conducted himself again at the final whistle was embarrassing!

Get him out of the club! It?s not worked and it won?t change

Luck with decisions hardly likely whilst fatty continues to cover his own shortcomings by slagging the refs after every match.
Surely Stewart could afford a minor operation to stitch his gob shut.
At it again after Reading, saying the ref isn't league 1 standard.
Are YOU a L1 standard manager?

Just got back what a long day.
I thought we were unlucky with the decisions and we definitely should have won.
That said we are so weak and vulnerable when it matters.
JCH is done he?s gone now.
Phillips did well and is getting better.
Reality is this manager will keep us where we are average at best.
This squad is capable of better but continues to deliver not much.

It's refreshing to see fans with a bit of perspective. As many others have pointed out, it does seem people are on the whole much more sensible at this level, and friendlier too. Having said that I imagine Birmingham will be a nightmare tomorrow, whatever the result, but that's to come.

Steve Evans is of course a complete embarrassment, I can't imagine he is very good to play under.

Some nice comments from Wigan fans, though they put their defeat squarly on their managers substitutions......

"Reading have had a transfer embargo for 2 or 3 years along with years of ownership and EFL turmoil. All of their players were frees, loans or from the academy - their squad has less experience and probably more kids than us. They've also lost their 2 best players and top scorers in the last couple of windows and their manager and replaced him with someone with no experience. So we cant even use the usual excuses to explain why the opposition are streets ahead of us as in pretty much every department they've had similar or arguably a harder times but are in the play of mix compared to us trying to keep out of the dog fight.

Their movement, pressing, tempo, aggression and overall method of play was very well drilled. Also they wanted it more and showed a lot more urgency to go at us, close us down or win loose balls. They're just a vastly superior coached side, in every department and as someone else said even Noel Hunt in his first handful of games as a coach is miles ahead of Maloney."

===============================================================================================================

"They were far better than us all over the pitch today. They had pace, power, technical ability and played some good passing football. We had none of that up until we went in front. We then actually looked like we were building some momentum but Maloney made 2 subs and took it away."

==============================================================================================================

"Noel Hunt is in his first managerial job in what was at one stage an interim role and tactically bossed Maloney. My head is gone."

==============================================================================================================

And of course, there just HAS to be one of these...................................................

"As for Reading ... never seen a bigger bunch of soft arsed mard shites. Every time they were touched, you'd have thought they'd been shot."

Saw some rave reviews of Garcia and Bindon (no surprise there) as well.

Wonder if we could get Bindon back on loan next season

I'd imagine there could be a decent chance if we went up.

Yeah, only then.

Although, if I was Forest, I'd want to see how he got on at a different club, not just the one he's used to.

Yeah, I think it'll be nailed on he gets a Championship loan next season.

Could well go to another club to see how he does in a different environment. Obviously the other side of that argument is he knows the set up at Reading and that may give him the best chance to continue to grow and develop.

Then we get promoted at the first time of asking and we buy him back and give him a lifetime contract...

Nice to see some opposing fans giving us credit, and picking out some of our better prospects in the process.

On Bindon, I actually think that if he joins up with Forest fairly early in the summer, he may well end up in their squad next season. He's just so unfazed by everything and I think he could impress them enough that he will be in the mix.

Otherwise, I hope they loan him to someone in the Championship and not flippin' Rio Ave where he will excel but largely be playing at the same level he has here for the last two years.

With Forest almost certain to be in Europe next season (whether the Champions League or the Europa League remains to be seen) they are going to need a large squad to cope with all the extra games; Bindon is good enough to be thought of as a Premier League squad player anyway, but the demands of European football will mean he is almost certain to be kept to bolster their squad next season regardless.

I can see him making an impact. Their first choice CB pairing are well set and won't be voluntary broken up, but I can see him featuring in cups, Europe (if not Champions League) and occasional bench minutes. And then give it 12 - 18 months for injuries, form drop off or player sales and it would not surprise me at all to see him force his way in as a regular.

The Wrexham forum is brilliant! So much so they’ve opened a second thread to complain about how they need to sack everyone and fold the club.

Shouldn’t have to mention they’re in THIRD only by goal difference! :D
Well, that's our season over and done with.

Night lads.

That's me done.

I wonder if the ref will get together with the Reading players to celebrate the hard fought victory against Wrexham.

The only change that I would like to see on the bench is the manager. Grateful for his service but his tactics are dire.

Got to say that was totally EMBARRASSING. League 1 it is next season

Enough is enough in terms of this brand of football.

If you can’t adapt then get out.

I wonder how many of them were going every week before Hollywood took over. Any Wrexham fan with a memory > 5 years would not be moaning about having to settle for L1 play offs. Plus they're still well in the race for 2nd.

I do sort of feel sorry for the heart of that club who have suffered and won’t be spouting that crap on their forum. There’s proper football fans there drowned out by the entitled masses.

Exactly this.

The jolly come latelies Wrexham fans wetting the bed. Or, probably just the idiots who post on their forum.

Wouldn’t it be sad to see them fail to make automatic promotion and lose out in the playoffs

Can you imagine what would go through Smith's head if we made playoffs and beat them? (Again).

Stranger things have happened.
