That very convincing win will hopefully provide a big boost in morale and confidence.

When do the two sisters from Jamaica start playing? They're both due to join NCAA D1 teams in the US in the summer so, no disrespect to the girls currently in the squad, should be a whole level and more above in terms of ability.

I was surprised that they didn’t figure yesterday as their last match away( i think) was last Monday- Jamaica failed to qualify for the finals on GD.

They were posting photos from Venice over the weekend, so obviously took a non-direct route back. Of course, they're amateurs and travel plans were probably sorted out before they signed for Reading. The US university season appears to start in August, so Reading should get them for the rest of this season.

In the unsuccessful U20 qualifying tournament Maya started all three games as an attacking midfielder and scored three goals, two of which were long-range shots with some power (can't recall the first goal). Kayla started two games at full-back and came on as a half-time sub in the other game. The opposition quality was incredibly low, particularly in the first two games, and Jamaica failed to qualify only due to conceding a goal in the last few minutes of the last game. All three games are on YouTube, but for completists only.

Two very good signings by the look of it. Should help ensure safety for this season.

Why Reading FC? Maybe a question for the local journos to ask? Relatively local to the school? A contact at/with the school? Recommendation from one of their Universities or someone in the Jamaica setup (despite the sad decline/destruction of the women's set up they could still be sure of excellent facilities and coaching)? Just to be able to say they played for Reading FC?

Next up is another relegation battle away to Badshot Lea on Sunday 9th March KO 2pm. The home side have just 3 points from 14 matches- all draws.
Selsey are home to Oxford City.

I would think that at this level, being able to strike the ball as well as that shot in the 2nd video was struck is going to produce dividends!

Day off next Sunday 16th for the Royals as their next match is on Tuesday 18th March away to local rivals Wycombe Wanderers KO 7.30pm. Rather surprisingly the match is being played at Adams park, which will be the best ground the Royals play at this season.
