Couple of things clear with Dai

His original intentions were clearly to spend a load of his cash to make us a prem team, and support the infrastructure re: Bearwood. Most fans certainly happy with that approach

He clearly knows f all about actual football and why would he? So he should have stayed away from any footballing decisions, ie Moore and Loader

He made some awful appointments - Gourlay particularly who I absolutely despise as a man. Though Bowen was a Dai man and was broadly positive imo

He also received appalling advice on the football side from hangers on and agents, and maybe still is

Last 3-4 years have been utterly unacceptable though. Not helped by his appalling communications or lack of. He should have gone a couple of years ago and we’d have looked on him as a gambler who had a go and failed, rather than the absolute twat we all think he is now

Maybe a moot point but I always thought it was Gourlay who sidelined Tevreden.

Now, I get that Gourlay was a Dai appointment but if you appoint someone to run the football side of things, surely you leave them to run the footballing side of things, especially if their CV says they've run some successful football clubs.

The truth lies somewhere in the middle, surely. Dai's ownership of the club has been utterly ruinous but Couhig is looking increasingly less like the gallant knight riding in on a white steed to slay the dragon.

The thing that annoys me the most is that we had an owner who gambled a fortune and we didn't really notice it until it was over and suffered the consequences.

At least Portsmouth fans got a Cup Final out of their folly...

Yeah that. Plenty of clubs have been just as irresponsible- they just made a far better job of it on the pitch

Blowing all that cash on the likes of Puscas and Aluko with managers who had zero idea how to best utilise them anyway, dreadful stuff

I noticed it and complained bitterly. And not about the lack of success from it.

'Noticed'was perhaps the wrong word, I meant 'enjoyed the benefits'

Yeah, really don’t get the important footballing managerial appointments made. With the exception of Tevreden every one of them was an utterly stupid backward decision for the club.

Tevreden was appointed by the Thais. He was the Director of Football(?) under Stam - signed Swift; Beerens; Meite; Moore; Blackett; van den Berg.

Didn't spend his own cash though. He borrowed and fraudently obtained. Took a huge gamble that backfired .........

Won the play-off under Stam. History now would have be very different.

No one would care how Dai funded the success.

Nothing about Dai's ownership made any sense.

He appeared to get rid of all the people who knew about running the club, and bought in his own people, who didn't.

He maintained the policy of getting agents to bring in their own clients on high wages, for high fees, even when it was clearly not working.

It would be quite difficult to run the club as badly as he has done by accident. I almost hope he has been using the club to launder money, as the prospect of this being him at his best is alarming,

It would only be different in so far as it would be worse, because we'd have spent far more, on shit, and been immediately relegated.

You don't run us like dai and stay up in the PL.

Wolves have made a pretty good fist if it, in a seemingly similar model.

Difference being that Jorge Mendes is a vastly superior agent to Kia Joorabchian, you just have to look at their respective client lists to see that.

Dai couldn't even pick a decent super agent to take advice from.

Yeah, of course, no doubt about it - just the closest model I could think of, Chinese ownership and massively relying on agent(s) for transfers. The application of that model is night and day between the two clubs.

Yes, with the information we know now, it would've more than likely have failed. But looking at Wolves suggests that it could've worked.

Seems like there`s still a certain Fulham player that can`t get over their play-off defeat nearly nine years on, our pitch is a disgrace and he`s happy with the mess we find ourselves in. his audience had a good laugh too.
But no mention of their pedo owner.
Take a bow Cairns you fucking loser.

There's an interview with Tevreden on either the Elm Park Royals or 1871 podcast in which it's clear he left because of Gourlay and if he'd known Gourlay was going a short while later he probably wouldn't have left.

Great player. Shame his health took such a turn for the worse at such a young age

I've seen the clip and although I think he's a bit of a gimp, it sounds like he's talking specifically about the play-off semi and playing up to a crowd of Fulham supporters. I'll chalk this down to a footballer being an idiot with no diplomacy skills or a real understanding of another club's plight. I am sure if he was talking in the press it would be much different.
