From Despair To Where? Also says that if Dai engaged, he'd buy the club tomorrow.

With reference to the women's team, he said he had an investor lined up to fund it.

So most of the vehement criticism against him was wrong, 2+2=5?

According to him, anyway.

And he hates Dellor... this guy is perfect.

morganb Just updating my Reading FC 2025 kitchen calendar (not really, Reading didn't do any kind of calendar this year)...

The EFL statement refers to "the agreed timeframe" but doesn't actually give any specific dates

Does anyone know what the key dates involved are as I've seen various dates quoted on Twitter/HNA:

4th (or 5th) April

4th May (note: 3rd May is the last day of the standard L1 season, PO Final is 25 May)

Assume the above dates are based on the February date on the EFL letter to Dai plus he's already been given an extension already?

And what happens if things are not done by these dates?

April - current deadline to sell based on the clock ticking from disqual notice.

May - the point at which the FL will actually enforce the action because it gives them time to consider any requests for delay to the deadline and handily takes us past the final game.

If we make the POs, we won't, expect them to take longer to make a decision.

Who is the interviewer in that Couhig piece ?
Might it be someone connected to the deal ?
Might that influence the choice of questions and and probing of answers ?

That's not the story according to the guy who had a rescue deal, more or less approved by the WFL, all lined up and ready to go for the ladies. But then this is all just stuff on social media and, apparently, 97% of the time it's cr@p.

Where does the the "he hates Dellor" bit come from? Nothing in his interview transcript that he hates him that I can see... :?

Rather cutting remarks about a local radio reporter who keeps reporting stuff which is wrong but never says he was wrong. Not sure many reporters go back and fact check themselves

Rob Couhig Well, you should know that, Joe. You used to try and negotiate me up for the players all the time.

Would presume it's Joe Jacobsen as the interviewer, so hardly an independent voice. And obviously it's going to affect the questions and general vein of the interview.

What, the BBC not fact check themselves when they have a whole department (BBC Verify) that's there just to do that very thing

Probably focus more on major political and international stories rather than local interest sports stuff though

Todays The Price of Football question podcast ditched half the questions and spent the first 30 minutes providing listeners with an update on Reading FC and all the possible outcomes. Worth a listen.

On the "local journalist" bit...

I expect there's a different threshold for fact checking between what's reported in the news and what is speculation and discussion during a sports programme.

Dellor can only talk about what's he's told, by whom, and how it may relate to other things.

I'm sure he's appreciate a chat with Couhig or his representatives to get their side of the story.

But, I also admit, he is sometimes a bit lacking in caution, which could make his job difficult should Couhig manage to take over/

The accounts for the period ending 30th June 2023 have been filed, which feels like a positive step.

Yes would seem strange to publish them if they are just running down time to close the club

Must be a positive step in the process given the reasons given for non publishing.

£20m loss, the 2024 accounts are due next week, if we still have a club next season we`ll probably start on minus points.

Yeah, you'd have thought so - if they were looking to just wind down the club, they'd not bother.
