morganb Barnsley sack boss Clarke and put Hourihane in charge

The Reds have lost seven of their past 11 matches

It's a sign of getting older when you can remember Jon Stead being the latest hyped starlet and now he's been named as assitant coach to a caretaker manager at a L1 club.

So I assume our heartbreak will mean the fight for 20th in L1 and 22rd in L2 will suddenly become 21st and 23rd with fewer teams getting relegated.

Makes relegation from L1 more interesting seeing as the bottom four have been clear for a month or three

Results going very well so far, only Wrexham winning and Charlton 2-0 down.

Wrexham winning is good, they’re playing Stockport.

It depends, did think if we have an improvement of form, we'd have an extreme outside shot of automatics. Overly optimistic I know, but feel the best result would be a draw so both teams drop points.

Decent set of results today even with Barnsley getting a late point, they were already dropping off and have dropped 2 more points, basically out of the race now, if they overtake us it just means we've dropped out of the race too.

I don't really pay any attention to teams below us. If any of them overtakes us we haven't caught the teams above us anyway.

Strange move - obviously doesn't think he can keep Shrewsbury up!

Honestly can`t see the attraction in Ainsworth, ok he did well at Wycombe without pulling up any trees, but failed miserably at QPR and now Shrewsbury.

Possibly still living in Finchampstead has something to do with it.

Just noticed we're down to 9th following Orient's win at home to Stevenage last night, scored early and sounds like they were fortunate by all accounts.

Only because, of all the clubs in the top 10, only Bolton have a worse goal difference than Reading.

Rotherham United can confirm that, following a meeting between the Chairman and Manager this morning, the club have parted company with First Team Manager Steve Evans

I'd probably prefer the drive to Shropshire every day than needing to go around the M25 to Kent and back...

No a direct rival but it looks like Sheffield Wednesday are in the same situation as us, they are a much bigger club too

They’ve had a few years of it too as I recall, wasn’t so long ago they were demonstrating about him, then promotion happened and it all seemed to drop more into the background. Sounds like another Dai set of circumstances with selling things to himself and encountering cashflow issues, though, tbf, it sounds like the cashflow could be caused by something a little more accountable than “elsewhere”.
