Sanguine Must admit - as I've only dipped in to the detail on occasion, that I'd missed that we are subject to suspension from the EFL in just eight days. :o

If the club can convince the EFL that the sales process is progressing it won`t happen.

If Couhig rejects the new proposal, are we confident that we can convince the EFL of that?

The EFL have said they`ll consider all options, expulsion is the nuclear one, The U18s have a cup final on the 18th of April, would they be that heartless to shut down the club before then?

Ball back in Couhig's court I guess....it at least confirms an intent to sell given alternative security offered.

I wonder what this is? Dai's place in London?

I can't imagine! A boiled sweet? The hanging gardens of Babylon? 6 million pound placed in escrow? It really is impossible to say

gawd I hope it is a legit amount and offer....

my cynical head can't help but think this is a PR ploy to imply the blockage remains with RC...

Huang saying on X that Platek has agreed to assist in funding the club provided Couhig agrees the security package.

Let's hope Dai is more committed to selling the club than the last four times we've released statements saying that.

Putting things into perspective, I was chatting to a co-worker who is a Reading fan. Their job is at risk, their marriage is a mess, they have health issues, they have a family friend with a terminal illness and could finish the year unemployed, at risk of losing their home, divorced, further deteriorating health, attending their family friends funeral and worse, but the thing that concerns them most, which they worry about the most is the prospect of Reading FC ceasing to exist.
Yes, they arguably have some of their priorities wrong, but I think we all get it.

I kinda get it though. Family and friends come and go, as do we all, but you expect your club to live on in perpetuity... it's a permanent fixture of life.

And a focal point of life for some, with tens of thousands of hours and pounds invested into it.

In some ways it can be more akin to a person's faith and religion, than a hobby.

Of all the things that don't matter football is the most important.

IF RFC has put forward the offer of putting £6M into Escrow, and if that's the only thing holding up the sale to Platek, then where is the issue for Mr Couhig?

After his media round following last Friday, he said he was not a blocker to the sale of RFC; if thats the case, then what stops him from agreeing the £6M Escrow?

In my mind it seems:

1. RC agrees £6M Escrow;
2. Platek funds the club whilst negotiating the purchase from Dai who knows (and agrees) that he has to sell RFC;
3. Sale of RFC goes through - Platek becomes owner ASAP after April 3rd.
4. Resolution of RC lawsuit.

EFL happy, no threat of being kicked out (though with a likely transfer embargo due to late posting of accounts.

So, ball is in RC's court...........................................

Only that if he were to win his case for £12 million in damages there wouldn't be enough money in the escrow account to pay it.

But he wouldn't win the case. Even the most optimistic of his supporters would agree with that.

So, in all reality, he has nothing to lose.

His case i guess, has 2 key points. Firstly, did Dai breach exclusivity? I reckon he may win on this point.

The much much harder part is proving how it has cost him £12m. I don't know how he proves this given how hard it is to make a profit out of football.

If £6m in escrow is on offer, he should take it.

Although its been suggested his case is tenuous nobody really knows, and nobody really knows whether he dropped the offer substantially prior to Dai pulling out. Given Couhig's profession there must be a lot in his claim to suggest he may win.
