From Despair To Where? Doesn't sound like there's much to add from what was said in the podcast with Aaron Paul and Joe Jacobsen earlier in the week.

Theres a fair chunk extra to be fair mate. The liens is a massive part

Presumably Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad fame has not joined an EFL soccer podcast?

From Despair To Where?
Sutekh Highlights nobody around here has a clue what is actually going on at the moment. Pulled from pillar to post with a ton of machinations going on. At the end of the day RC managed Wycombe into a very useful well run unit. Meanwhile Dai and his entourage of advisors (whoever they may be) have managed to do the polar opposite with Reading while Platek we know seems to sell and move on from things fairly quickly when what Reading really need is time and effort to stabilise and build back the foundations JM had.

That's a bit unfair on Platek. What's he done that Couhig hasn't done at Wycombe, and conversely, what's Couhig done at Wycombe that Platek hasn't done at Casa Pia?

I'd say their methods and level of success are comparable. We could do a lot worse than either.

I do think though that Couhig is seen by some as a pantomime villain because of the shenanigans with Bearwood.

well quite I just want some fcuker to buy us.

But it's good to see that when the going gets tough the Team Board get bitching.

Would agree, nothing against either of them, just highlighting that Platek does seem to move on quickly, he sold the Danish outfit after a short while following their relegation, he sold Spezia after a year or two during which they struggled (believe FIFA also put an international transfer embargo on them at one point over signing underage players or something) and now it seems he’s selling up at Casa Pia after driving them to probably their most successful period in the last 100 years.

At the end of the day if RP won out and provided short term stability and some success then sold up in 2 years, that’d be fine as at least we’d still have a going concern and presumably one that’s attractive to more people and easier to do business with. Just would personally prefer some time to catch breath with a decent owner for a few years, but then there’s nothing to say that RP would sell up quickly at Reading just that it currently seems to be a thing for him.

How long was Couhig owner at Wycombe?

Couhig wasn't exactly in it for the long haul at Wycombe, about 4 years. Became majority shareholder in February 2020

Platek oxf*rd up in Denmark but has publicly acknowledged what they did wrong and seems to have learned from his mistakes.

Le Spezia are no worse off for his ownership.

Casa Pia are punching considerably above their weight in Portugal

2019 to 2024. He only sold up due to health concerns which he now says are behind him.

Sutekh Thanks for giving RC a chance to put a bit of PR out there for himself!

Nice to hear RC give his time to speak and in so doing show more communication to the fans than we’ve had from the present mute in all his 8 years.

Thanks mate. This has taken quite some prep since I managed to secure it but I hope we covered everything and got more new information.

The liens information is very interesting. Whilst it avoids a doomsday scenario is this why the club have avoided administration but have been on a drip feed of funds for almost 2 years?

Bearwood again interesting and the fact the club were trying to flog the asset rather than Couhig jumping on a bad situation.

From speaking with Rob, honest opinion and I don't want to influence anyone else, was he is a very open, hospitable person. He also, despite being offered numerous opportunities during the interview had the chance to throw people under the bus but avoided doing so. Make of that what you will.

Appreciate your time, must have taken a while to set up! Glad someone’s managed to do something the BBC should have been looking to do rather than just parroting the club. Hope you’re not losing your Bournemouth followers as a result!

Rob speaks as you’d expect in being very positive and sensible about how to run a club and you can see through the state of Wycombe that he does deliver. Only thing I felt was missing was on the collapse of his deal, as I edited into my earlier message.

Great to hear from the horse's mouth, very informative. Agree with Sutekh - quite honestly I wonder what the local press do all week aside from sitting on X and pasting in others' work.

I thought they'd all be replaced by AI Agents that pick up press releases & planning applications and re-write them using the word 'beloved' a lot whilst posting on eligible pop up ridden sites....

I'd assumed it as longer, ta.

Yes there’s nothing in his history at previous clubs that seems alarming, he’s admitted errors which he appears to have learned from, no problems with me if Platek does take over, I’d be supporting him until he does things that prove he’s not “ideal”. Just saying I don’t fancy another 400 page speculation filled takeover thread in another 2 years.

I could be pedantic and point out he's owned Casa Pia for 4 years but I won't.

It really really doesn't matter in the short/medium term who purchases the club at this stage; ANYONE is better than Dai, who is literally destroying our football club.

Either Platek or Couhig will be an massive upgrade.

Mr Blobby could buy the club at this point and it would be "fine" - we literally have 2 choices being sold to someone who can meet their obligations, or wave bye bye to the club as we know it.

Having read about the winding up petition last night, I thought I would listen to BBCRB to see what Tim or Adie had to say on the subject on the 8.30 sports news. Easily summarised: absolutely nuffin. Adie did come up with some useful information, though. Apparently tomorrow’s game is the first of nine cup finals. Jesus wept.

But listen to Howe. Dai has invested over £200m, surely no new owner will do that?

Of course, it seems like none of that invested money was actually his to invest. It's fraud.

I've just got an email notification of a change to Reading FC on the companies house gov.uk website but can't find what's changed. Anyone else got any ideas?

Some of the commas in the "change of address" notification have moved. Still isn't right, though.
