That's very good, but what position was he in when the Boro player actually played the ball?

In that picture the ball hasn't left his boot has it? He was offside if you ask me and the linesman was correct. Southgate, jumping around his technical aera and punching the air because he thought his team had scored however, was not. Rather amusingly... :)

I have seen it on TV now and tend to agree with Muskrat. In this photo he looks onside but from what I saw he dummied the cross and when the ball was played Viduka had strayed just offside.

retired aggro Lets hope that things even themselves out and Reading have a decent goal disallowed at Villa

Lots of sour grapes here methinks.
Are you telling me RA that you have not had the luck on your side occasionally and you have argued that it was a good goal???

I seem to remember a goal against Tottenham that crossed the line before your goal keeper caught it.

As you can see, his shadow is clearly offside when the ball is kicked.

Good enough for me.

come on he was miles on side(it has to be a part of his body he can play the ball with).

Nothing wrong with admitting you have had a lucky break, the promoted teams will need these if we are t stay up. Watford in particular are due one

I blame Shorey for Boro even getting the chance in the first place.

We was caught out of position.

Needs to improve this part of his game a bit. Noticed him doing this last season but we weren't punished then.

I think he WAS ONside.. BUT as said previously , we had a lucky break , and , going back to the original post , hoping that things even themselves out , they , without doubr , WILL.. BUT not neccessarily at villa , but sometime before the end of the season..that's what makes football , exciting... remember that perfectly good goal that was disallowed against Portugal during the european championships????

I think the lino got it wrong, Viduka was onside when the ball was played.

As for it evening itself out of the season, I'd say it evened itself out over the course of the game. It could be argued that Doyle was fouled in the build up to the 'Boro opening goal or that Halsey gave 'Boro the benefit of doubt on a number of occassions when decisions could've gone our way.

At least on this occasion Boro didn't score, whereas when Murty was caught out of position Boro did score with a nice volley from Downing. I remember Halls getting ripped apart for a similar mistake against Birmingham last season.

It is not worth discussion.

In my view, it was onside.

However, That`s also a part of football as you know. Sometimes ur team could get some advantages and get dis as well.

I don`t think Viduka still keeps it in his mind.
