Eric pcunting Nixon - hopeless.

^ This. Horrendous goalkeeping in his only appearance for us. I don't think I've ever quite gotten over that 2nd goal  . Gr8 night though, 3,000 RFC supporters made the trip up and delirium kicked in when Jimmy Quinn scored that absolute rasper; smashing strike but not even close to being one of his best for us, what a player. Can recall walking through an underpass before the game after being escorted off one of the 40-odd RFSC coaches with several hundred RFC fans humming the Hovis advert theme

Enjoy 8)

Both great nights! Brilliant strike by Jimmy - he never seemed to get tap-ins. Stayed at a hotel in Leeds after the second one and had a right old knees-up with some Reading fans doing likewise. What a fantastic sit-up cross by Skittles for Stabber's winner. We went hatstand. Happy days.

I have all the Simod Cup day footage on VHS, including the interview with that Canadian bloke who flew all the way back to see the Royals at Wembley.

Think it might be Bernal,he had the right sort of floppy hair. Holsgrove was bigger.

Also No Holsgrove in the squad according to the match report in the archive, and Bernal was. It sure as hell wasn't Wdowczyk or McPherson that's for sure.

Edit: Nope not skippy, so maybe Tooty Fruity, although I'd have thought he'd have been 2 which only really leaves that useless pile of shite Houghton.

Edit: How on earth can we have started that game with three full backs and three centrebacks!?!? And brought another fullback on as a substitute!?!?!?!?!

FFS we were shit then.

I think that's Hodges. Pretty sure he wore #4 but I could be wrong. Skippy is sent off later and that's not the same person...I think.

EVERY fan needs to watch that and witness the rarest of the rare, an Asaba HEADED goal. So rare they even mimic it in the celebration. Wasn't this our last win in that league before we were relegated?

No, we beat Stoke City 2-0 in April who were managed by Chris Kamara and had Paul Holsgrove in their side.

Nice One Shaka.

I have the FULL match from Tranmere Away in the 95 paly offs on DVD. Andy Stegall and all. Priceless viewing, our support that day puts the current crop to shame.
